Hi guys parents were going to buy me a Dell this week for studying hard for my junior cert but I said to wait as someone mentioned to me about ye geniuses :) Friends have PC's so will be gaming a lot online. My budget is 850 euro, have windows and a HD monitor. Friend told me to concentrate on processor and Graphics card and just get adequate other stuff. He also told me that Battlefield 4 will be better with AMD processors and will be future proof cause new XBox have them. Any help please, ye built a savage pc for my friend in the past.

Might as well fill out these questions on this thread, but you'll get a very nice bit of kit for 850.

    What is your budget? 850

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming/Video Editing] want something good as will be doing feck all in fourth year

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [No]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? [No] Have 22 inch 1080P

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? No, Ill pick out my own, not included in budget

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Doesn't that involve soldering?

    8. How can you pay? ugh, not sure

    9. When are you purchasing? this week

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Maybe

Cheap case, motherboard(unless specific reason not too), don't need any additional coolers, maybe down the line,(friend told me this) I want the best graphics performance for the budget so processor and graphics more important. I think AMD is way to go. I don't really mind if you an extra 5 FPS in some game with Intel. I heard that games will be supporting AMD big time in the next few months. Apparantly on facebook page Battlefield 4 will be utilized for the AMD processors

Overclocking is pretty easy at a beginner level with this CPU, it is a matter of bumping up the CPU multiplier in the Bios, nothing to do with soldering :). Just by doing that you should be able to to get another 10-15% performance out of the FX8320 without having to read up on more advanced concepts.

You're only young so you'll soak new information up like a sponge.

I think it is definitely something worth learning. Even if it is not something you want to do immediately, this would still be a very quiet build because of the cooler and leave you with the option at a later date.

TBH it is hard to spend much more on an (AMD especially) build for a 1080p gaming machine. I wouldn't discount Intel on your budget either believe me an i5 will not be found lacking in BF4 and if you really don't want to overclock probably better performance.

It was quite hard to decide on this as there are so many options at your budget level, but it would be an really good gaming rig.

    Item|Price
    Cooler Master Force 500 Midi-Tower - schwarz, ohne Netzteil|€34.10
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W|€46.47
    WD Caviar Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€56.82
    8GB G.Skill RipJaws-X PC3-12800U CL10|€55.87
    Gigabyte GA-970-UD3, AMD 970, AM3+, ATX|€78.65

    Thermalright HR-02 Macho Rev.A (BW)|€39.60
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€834.34

Maybe consider buying the GPU seperately as you'll pick up a few free games from aria for a good price, not sure if HWVS still have the game bundle codes.

EDIT: Just one point above you made above, cheaping out on a case or something like that is fine but if you get an 8-core AMD processor, don't cheap out too much on the motherboard , they are quite power heavy and the really cheap boards will struggle with them as they will have much lower quality components that regulate the power supply to the CPU (called VRMs)

Marcos build there is perfect. I wouldn't cheap out on the case though especially if overclocking. You want good airflow.

Something like this is great value. It comes with 3 stock fans, a fan controller, good cable management and is sound dampened.

There are better cases but not in that price range imo. Review here.

Comes in silver + black or white as well.

Looks perfect except for a CPU cooler, might as well go for the Macho above since you have a strong overclocking board and should be able to aim pretty high with the fx 8320.

Not absolutely nescessary if you are really at the budget limit and happy to run it at atock for a while, but its less hastle to put in on day one than later down the line.

Thanks for looking over it. I'm over my budget and will be leaving out the SSD for the time been. What cooler would you recommend. Might be able to get the SSD and cooler next month or maybe wait a bit longer.

The Thermaltake one in my build above would be a very good choice, the Cooler Master 212 evo is about €10 less but by no means 25% worse if you would prefer to spend less.
