Suspended timber was up in mocks, theres really no way of predicting this but they can only phase qs a bit differently, just go over your notes, its easy enough to know the course, and dont forget this exam isnt the end of the world you may have already passed the subject

Just wondering, would answers in bullets points, like what is given on the examinations.ie marking schemes be enough to get your marks for discussion?

Or would give the bullet point, and then expand on it?

Ok this is ment to be about consturction Studies.

    My advice is know:

    U-Values/Heat loss cost calculations

    Passive house

Modifying a Existing dwelling (Look at past paper answers for that one)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 124 ✭✭007driver

U values come up every year, dont they

What is the passive house? Thats not the life-time use question is it?

    It's question 10 every year.

You could probably link passive house with lifetime use but lifetime use also includes things like wheel chair accessibility

Does anyone think there might be a chance of something on drainage could come up? Knob of a teacher reckons it hasn't been up yet, even though it was up last year? That question 10 B can be okay too! There's nothing at all in our book about MHRV?

Them books are gone out of date and don't cover a few questions.

Would anybody else think that that study guide Trevor Hickey put up could be an idea of what is likely to come up? Site Safety would be a handy one. Most of the questions on that haven't come up in years, so there's a good possibility. Does he make the questions for the exam I wonder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24 lisheen2308

    id say
    passive house
air tightness/mhrv all that stuff/solar gain
    low enviromental impact house
    u value
    foundations
    hot water systems
    q1 hopefully a fireplace

we have done absolutley nothing on site safety. i doubt he writes the paper surely he'd be in breach of some sort of contract not to reveal whats on the papers. hes probably just good at predicting, like our business teacher predicted todays paper spot on!

Also is it a total score from all 3 exams that gives you your grade, I heard if you failed one part you failed the whole subject

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 Sweeney143500

That was the worst Construction exam I've ever done, didn't even go near the 1st question!

its your total, from the chief examiner report you can see that people fail the paper but still pass the subject
