I knew I heard something about Smyths only holding the PS4s for 48 hours. He finally got through to them this morning (to tell them he would get in this evening) but they told him that the console I ordered in early July had been given to whoever was next on the list because he only had 48 hours to collect.

To be fair to him he did try to ring them all weekend but they didn't answer their phone.

But anyway just posting this in case someone on here as yet hasn't picked up their pre order. I'd get on to them ASAP (if they ever answer their phone)

No offense. But the text that is sent says Close of business Monday. So I'd demand a console, or your talking BS.

Finally got a response, of sorts, from Gamestop about my missing preorder from June:

Hi ,

We recently received a support request from you with the subject: "Re: Order confirmed". Our systems have detected that your request related to PlayStation 4.

Due to the high volume of customer service enquiries relating to the release of PlayStation 4, we have put together this automated response which covers some of the most frequently asked questions relating to PS4. We apologise if the information below does not answer your query. Please simply reply to this ticket if you still need our help.

There is currently a waiting list for PlayStation 4. Here is the information you need about pre-orders.

*Pre-Christmas Information*
Consoles ordered on GameStop.ie **before** November 20th should be received before Christmas. We do not yet have exact confirmation of shipping dates for this second wave of consoles just yet. We will however be contacting customers as soon as we know more.

*Orders placed after November 20th*
Unfortunately, if your order was placed after November 20th, we would not be able to guarantee delivery of your console before Christmas. We are however, hopeful that these consoles will be delivered in early 2014. No date has been confirmed as yet. We will be dispatching consoles on a first come first serve basis.

*Controllers, Cameras and Other Accessories*
All orders for DualShock 4 Controllers, PS4 Camera and other accessories will be dispatched as soon as possible when ordered. These are currently in stock and there is no waiting list.

*PlayStation 4 Games*
All games that are due to be launched with PS4 will be shortly after time of ordering. There is no waiting list for games.

*Payment issues*
If you are contacting us in relation to a payment issue with your online PS4 order, please reply to this email to keep your ticket open.

*PS4 Cancellations*
If you are contacting us about cancelling an existing pre-order for PS4, *please reply to this email as soon as possible* to ensure that you ticket remains open.

Direct from Sony order arrived today. Happy out, have played few games of FIFA and Assassins Creed though my coordination on Resogun is shocking!

Nice machine, downloads are quick and an overall more fluid experience than ps3. Early days for console but like the set up so far.

Did anyone receive codes from amazon for £7 off Playstation plus, knack or KZ? I got an email this morning and i'd use it for playstation+ but i dont think we can as it'll be the UK one

Yeah I did, going to use it to get Playstation Plus. Does anyone know where I can get the official docking system and stand? Seem to be sold out in a good few places.

Any one get theirs from amazon ? Estimated delivery was yesterday , but no sign of it yet. It said an post is been used , but the tracking number attached does not seem to work

Still waiting on mine. Tracking number works ok, changed status to 'in transit' yesterday. Next one is 'out for delivery', which I thought it would change to this morning, but hasn't.

Not worried about it, but slower than I expected (also had estimated delivery of Monday).

Same as myself. Amazon have it marked as being handed over to an post on Friday and it has been marked as 'dispatched' ever since. Delivery date was originally today. Then got pushed back to tomorrow last night. Tracking number doesn't work on an post website and starting to get worried. Everything I've ever ordered off amazon has arrived a couple of days early usually.

In my experience, An Posts tracking rarely works. Amazon on the other hand are very reliable. You'll get it.

You got that the wrong way round,as soon as it arrives in Ireland it will be scanned into the Irish system,Amazon however spoof about dispatch dates and item could be a week knocking around the UK until it actually dispatches to Ireland,people automatically blame An Post as they are the ones at the end of the chain.

I've regularly received stuff from An Post, where I have checked the tracking and there is no information and yet I receive it something like an hour later.

I have gotten stuff off amazon with "tracking" numbers when they are not actual postal tracking numbers.If its a genuine An Post tracking number it is scanned every step.When it arrives in your local sorting office it will be scanned to the individual route ,each post person has to sign the items out ,item should come up as on route".you are responsible for those items until you deliver them or return them to the office where you scan them off your route ,you sign them back in.It's in the best interest of the person on a route to make sure its scanned as once its on a particular route they ere responsible for it.Sometimes it can take 30 minutes or so to update but its a pretty sophisticated system,if you are having trouble why don't you ring customer services with your tracking number and they will tell you exactly where you stand.I find it hard to believe that your post is not getting tracked at all ,very strange.

Wow! Much more than i would have expected, might trade my one in too, never did have any interest in it. Was your copy unopened? I opened and played mine but it jyst isnt my type of game.

I have 25th sept pre order ,just rang Gamestop ,girl said i will definitely get one before xmas,no info on when or how many on next dispatch so i don't know how Gamestop can be so sure of this.
