Okay. This I condone.

There was another thread about a woman who took a picture of a man who was on a train bragging about cheating. She then circulated it around Facebook so that people would know who this cheating dude was. That to me was unacceptable.

But this I condone. I think this was well-played. I have been on dating sites (POF) and have received the unsolicited penis pic. If I want to see your junk, I'll ask to see your junk. I say: Well played, madam. Well played.

Just out of interest, why do you condone the second story and not the first?
I would feel the opposite. Don't think an elderly woman needs that kind of grief. I think cheating loudmouth husband definitely needs to be outed, he has a wife who deserves better.

    What an absolute prick.

Your man shouldn't have sent the pictures either.

In the second story, his face and name were blurred. The screenshots were shared with the public, but the only person who received his naughty pics were his mother. Secondly, it is a form of violation to receive a penis pick unsolicited. It's a way to take control away from the person receiving it; he made the choice to send it to a stranger thus he put himself out there for that person to do with it as they will.

One act involved a stranger taking a picture and going vigilante with it. The other involved a victim who received a picture and decided to let his mommy know what kind of son she has.

They weren't originally, the site that you linked blurred them.

So she got 'justice' by sending an uncouth image to an innocent third party? Go her.

He should've done The Last Chicken In The Shop. And his mother should've popped back a reply, "I've seen it before, dear - they all have one, you know!".

I'd do the exact same thing tbh. Why should she be protecting his privacy? This guy sends a couple of unsolicited texts to a stranger, and when she doesn't respond, decides "She definitely wants to see a picture of my mickey."
and worst of all, when she tells him she didn't want to see that he completely dismisses her feelings by just attacking her. Fûck him.

Absolutely no need to send it to his ma of all people ffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,453 ✭✭✭Shenshen

Calling it "rape culture" is taking it a little far, I think.

I don't mind the dick pic, but I think he was a prick when she complained cause she never wanted it. You send pics of your best buddy without being asked for it, you at least apologise when someone says they didn't want to see it.

Report it to the cops. Harassment and indecent exposure. No need to send something like that to his elderly ma.

So you would punish his harassment by harassing an innocent third party. I think we have ourselves a genius here.

    Perpetuating rape culture.....for fúck sake.
Feministas suck balls (well they probably don't, but you know what i mean:)).
Yes it was an asshole thing to do and he seems a genuine grade A asshole (and afraid of his mammy?), but let's not exagerate.

This is what feminism has become.

She's also belittling rape victims with her references to "rape culture"

I understand her comment about rape culture. Rape is about power. The rapist forcibly takes the power away from the victim. They take the victim's consent away from them. It strips them down to being an object to be used and abused.

Sending a picture of your penis to a woman who was not interested in you is a continuance of the same mentality that says if a woman says no, I can still force sex on her.

It's debasing. These types of men treat women as if they are being 'coy' and that the man really knows what she wants. She's just to proper or shy to ask for it.

There's a slight difference between being forced to witness the human body on a phone and being forced to have sex.

There is a difference. But the removal of power remains.

    Of course there is.

But what's the difference between somebody in work or in the middle of the street getting their cock out and sending a picture of your cock on your phone? Both are clearly unwanted.

Is it against the law out of curiosity does anyone know? I know indecent exposure is but would sending unwanted pictures of your genitalia like that count?

Are you suggesting they are both as bad as each other because you can attach a concept of power to each? If you're not, I dont understand your point.

My point is that his sending an unsolicited picture of his penis to an unwilling woman perpetuates rape culture because he has taken control away from the recipient.

No more than every market campaign this century does, have you ever fallen "victim" to an internet pop up ad?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,386 ✭✭✭Killer Wench

Maybe we should take a quick poll.

Who here has been sexually assaulted or raped?

I'll raise my hand. I'm probably not the only one but I'll be happy to talk about the trauma that I've dealt with for many years because I didn't feel as if my body was my own body. It is about control and taking away a person's right to say no. I should be able to say no, I don't want to have sex with you. I should be able to say no, I don't want to sex images of your penis.

Sending a picture of your penis isn't the same thing as forcing your penis into someone. However, the root of the action is why the woman who received those pictures reacted and called it part of the rape culture.
