Just wondering if going to see a nutritionist/dietician is any worth ? Or does anyone have any experiences with it ?

I've no real clue when it comes to what's "healthy " and what's not to be eating for a start, I suffer from IBS which isn't helped by my terrible diet (for example I just had 3 packets of hula hoops, half a packet of cookies and some ice cream for breakfast ! :p) and I'm also super lazy when it comes to to cooking etc. which also isn't helped by my constant low energy from not eating correctly.

Basically what I'd be going to the nutritionist for would be so I could eliminate the foods that flare up my IBS, be given something similar to a diet plan for say a month or so at a time (ie xyz for breakfast on monday abc for lunch on Tuesday etc.) , learn about improving my diet overall and how to continue that for life and also possibly look toward losing weight as I'm presently 9kg over my recommended weight for my height. I also feel that if I was to attend someone who would be looking specifically at my diet I'd feel more accountable for what I'm eating.

I basically want to improve my health and lifestyle overall bit by bit and feel my diet is a key area to this so I think its a good starting point however I just wanted to gather some info on peoples experiences on attending Nutritionists/Dieticians and were they worth it ?

Yep , lots of useful info there :) unfortunately a lot of it just goes over my head:o. I just think having someone physically tell me and hold me accountable for what I'm eating may be more beneficial to me. Essentially I need to be babied , at least initially anyway. :p

In treatment of IBS, a dietitian advice and support can pretty much eradicate symptoms provided you are willing to play your part,
The treatment is based on scientific evidence behind the FODMAPS diet.
Many registered dietitian can assist you with this, I would steer clear of nutritionists for this matter unless they have the required qualifications as the process can be quiet complex.
