Hes not national champ this year, beaten by Quigley (who has secured at least a bronze for himself today)

Missed that, out of the loop. Guess I just supposed O'Neill was a given. Fair play to Quigley.

Anyone have any live stream links for the championships? (I see RTE are streaming when the lads are in action.)

He fell and injured his knee in the 3rd round in his fight. He was winning.

Monster win for Quigley, absolutely cracking fight it was too

    He won all 3 rounds

Yevhen Khytrov is the guy that Anthony Ogogo "beat" in the Olympics

Great stuff. I wonder is there any hope of the lads turning pro now McGuigan is back in promoting Frampton. Really hope so, it would be a shame otherwise. I think alot of the guys can go very far even world level, especially Barnes and Nevin.

Nevin would be a world champ imo.

Another great tournament for this bunch. One of the best crops of athletes the country has ever produced. Serious win for Quigley over Khytrov too.

Just looking at the highlights there really quality displays from all of the lads Quigley really has been the star of the tournment his last two wins against abssolute quality fighters, 4 medals and could and most likely would have been 5 if joe ward wasnt so unfortunate, 4 silver medals and who knows 4 golds outstanding from the guys time and time again they produce

Plenty of room for improvement in Michael Conlon, very promising fighter. His right hand needs a bit of polishing but he has the tools, only 21 years old

Thought Conlon could have been a bit more aggressive, but good fight.

seriously how f*cking annoying is jimmy magee, says shag all about the fight, he spends each round trying to impress everyone with his memory and general knowledge mixed in with boxing spoofing.

Nevin has got a little sloppy in this round getting caught more than he should, of course Jimmy doesn't mention it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

    2nd to Nevin

Nevin getting caught a bit too much in this round, that's what cost him gold in London- low defence
