Monster Hunter "Hunt Together" Promotion

Anyone else get this in the mail?

Basically, as of 3pm tomorrow all current (registered) owners of Monster Hunter 3DS should get a code that allows them to gift Monster Hunter 3DS to anyone who registers a 3DS or 3DS XL

To anyone who has a 3DS or XL and has not yet registered for their Club Points : Stay your hand till 11:01pm, sir!

The code, once received, is not tied to a console :

The rules don't indicate how the friend uses the Recommendation code, presumably it's part of them registering their 3DS stars, which probably requires creating a new account.

Between this and "Too Many Games!" there's a lot of free stuff falling from the Nintendo tree! Life is good... Is this the start of the Nintendo Gift/Swap thread?

Incidentally, I have a 3DS stars code and Monster Hunter registered to my account, so on the offchance I can get a game code out of this, let the begging commence! I cannot recommend this game highly enough, it is awesome.

It does NOT state that the friend has to register a new account. It also doesn't say that the friend has to not already own a 3DS/XL. Presumably it will not allow you to recommend the game to yourself so you can get a copy for your new 3DS XL. Sure that would be mental!

In fairness that's a ridiculously good offer. Don't recall a company giving away a pretty new game before.

Well, you *do* have to buy a new 3DS. And they did give away a free game in January to new 3DS XL owners. So between that and "too many games" this is business as usual for Ninty Long may it continue!

Log in to your account and scroll the banner to the Monster Hunter one. If you're elligible you get a Register Now button and a picture of a moody MH3 player. Is that really what we look like to the outside world?

If anyone has done Too Many Games *and* already activated their TMG game code, and is still elligible please let me know. I went for Animal Crossing as my free TMG game so I haven't gotten it yet, don't want to jeopardise that for a free copy of a game I already have!

Despite owning it for over a year, I have yet to register my 3DS so would hugely appreciate a Monster Hunter code if anyone has one going!

Bear in mind, they also let you use MH3 for the So many Games promotion at the same time as this one despite saying you can't. The rules and the implementation of the eshop are two different things

Be interested to know if a free MH3 counts towards So Many Games....

The reddit link above posted by martineatworld seems to suggest that a free MH3 counts towards the So Many Games, having said that it just seems to be mentioned in the OP, couldn't see any confirmation from people who have had a recc code chained to them.

Banjo gave me a code (thanks again!), but I think I balls'd it up by not linking my club nintendo account 24 hours previously, so I can't comment whether it does count or not, the game isn't showing up in my Club nintendo account.

Unfortunately I only found that reddit thread afterwards with the correct procedure. I'm after getting onto Nintendo Support to see if they can help, and I'll keep the code for people in this thread if I get one.

Ok, so I got a code from a friend so I'm now sorted. The upshot of this is I can confirm that the codes do daisy chain as I now have a recommendation code to give away. Maybe the fairest way to do this is that those who have already asked but haven't got one post again that they're still looking and I'll give it to whoever was the earliest originally.

What might also be an idea is that when they get a recommendation code they could pass it onto the next person and so on; that way, pretty much everyone could get a copy.

Bear in mind that you have to have registered the 3DS after 11pm on the 3rd June, and code has to be claimed before the 30th in order to get another code (MH has to be registered with your account before this date to be eligible).

Oh, it took a day for me to get a recommendation code just to let people know.

I've had my eShop and Club Nintendo accounts linked since yesterday so I'm going to try download the game overnight so will hopefully have another recommendation code for someone in this thread by tomorrow evening.

Following Deano's lead, I might suggest those who asked first and haven't gotten a code yet might post again in this thread to say they are still looking for someone.

Also, if you make sure you go into the eShop settings on your 3DS and link your Club Nintendo account so that you'll get another code that can be passed on to someone else.

Nope, as long as they haven't registered it with club Nintendo. Mine was bought over a year ago, only registered it last week.

Do you know if he registered the 3DS with a Club Nintendo account? If he hasn't done this and still has the code, he'll be fine, otherwise he won't be able to use it as it has to have only been done after the 3rd June.

Just tested this, I gave the recommendation code to my friend, he registered his XL, put in the code, was presented a download code and then we gave it to the third friend who is downloading it now

My earlier code was taken by mopanelo2 (to explain his post) but unfortunately was used by the time he tried to input it as it was taken from a public forum, and he is still looking for one.

The one Banjo gave me has now appeared on my club Nintendo account and I've just passed that onto Floody777, so hopefully we can have 2/3 chains going so everyone gets sorted by the end of the month.
