    Heya,

I wanted to ask around if anybody experience the same as most of my (girl)friends take the pill and they couldnt answer me this:
Im not taking the pill (i refuse) but i only recently noticed that my mood kinda depends on my hormones. nothing new, i know but for a few months now, i always start to feel slightly depressed, sad, doubtfull and even fearfull without any reason. only for a few days or max a week.
im a very positive person and have normally no problems like that.
i noticed that it always happens in the middle of my circle, so is that because of the hormones? is the only way "out" the pill?

i just feel down and dont wanna do much, i hate this feeling...how do i change this?
as i said, for various reasons i refuse to take the pill, i hope thats not the only solution:D

Yes, similar here. Various remedies have worked when its bad. Best bit is i know it passes however its like living under a black cloud for a week. Touch wood it seems to have eased off for me of late. Not sure why now that you've reminded me. Exercise, eating well and sufficient sleep help, not take it away but it doesn't seem as bad then.

Yes, me too regardless of whether Ive been on the pill or off it to be honest with you. Just last week that 'black cloud; hung over me and no amount of walking it off, healthy eating, postive thinking would shift it...a good cry helped tho

Hi OP, hormones have a huge bearing on you mood, the pill can help in some cases and not in others. What you really need to do is chat to your GP, as only she/he can give you the right advice on managing the peaks and troughs of your hormones. Best of luck.

Aw OP, I'm sorry, that's not fun to deal with.:( What you're experiencing is not uncommon at all.
Seconding the recommendation to ask your GP, and just be aware that sometimes in the past "go on the pill" was kind of the cop-out answer people in your situation were given, by their friends and relatives or their doctors.

GPs nowadays are much less likely to just reach for the pill in a situation like yours, especially since you don't want to take it. Overall they tend to pay much more attention to making sure they find a solution that really suits your own wishes and medical condition and lifestyle.

Chin up bb. There are other ways to help lessen the symptoms you're describing. You don't have to just live with it or take the pill, there are other choices. Best of luck :)

    Hi celica00
    Best of luck.
Would be interested to hear/know how you get on with gp if you happy to post.
Thinking it might be time to try that route myself.
