Yes, it's the 21st of June. See here:

I've realised that because I'm submitting a dissertation in July, none of my results will be finalised for the June results date... so I'm not going to know what I got really.

Anyone know if my late submission date means I get results when the repeats get results? Or even later?

When I submitted my thesis in July, my results came out in August with the repeat results.
But the department gave me my results (much like they do with Christmas exams) before the official results day.

I'll just ring the department then, when the rest of the results are out.

    7th of August.

So the repeat are on august and the result comes out on the 4th September and the graduation is on the week 11 - 15th.

Then why the F*** are those who seat repeats not allowed to graduate if they pass.

    Fecking ridiculous.

Can anyone remember around what time the results were out last year?

Sorry!! My bad. I totally misunderstood what you were asking. Though you were asking when the repeat results are out.

Nah, Im still hoping that I'll pass by comp cause I will be abroad during the repeats so I would have to come back just to do them

Because the booklets, the parchment and the tickets are printed/sent out before repeat results come out. I would have thought that was obvious?

I'm fairly sure they were released around 3 in the afternoon, although it can take a while to log on, such is the traffic on the results site.

And that's sufficient excuse for those repeating to graduate in October.

    Game in two parts:

Part one: Visit the Registrar and explain that there is a problem with the timetable / calendar
Part two: Watch the blood drain from their face as their brain says "No, no more!" and slips itself into a coma to avoid doing the timetable again.

To the average student, the college calendar looks fairly straightfoward and you wonder how things could ever get messed up [I certainly did anyway.] The truth is that NUIM is 20 times more complex and difficult than one human mind can comprehend, and so when it comes to timetables and the calendar compromises have to be made.

Repeating students graduating a couple of weeks later is one of those compromises. It's just the order in which events occur that something has to give, due in part to number of things happening at that time of year and the narrow windows between them.

Don't know if this is the official results thread yet or not, but anyway I'll just treat it as such for the time being.

Sweating bullets lads! Friday week, I feel like I'll be a little shorter of breath with each passing day...

I'm feeling slightly zen about these results, even though I know maths will have been a disaster on the whole.

As far as I can remember, last year the online results were published earlier than they supposed to be (few hours or a day as far as I can remember). Does anyone know if it will be the same this year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,086 ✭✭✭Fbjm

I think it's that way every year Paczini. I've got a question regarding online results myself lads, last year I was doing two subjects and the online results just said "MUSIC - PASS, ENGLISH - PASS" and nothing else. This year I'm only doing music, so what will it say if I fail, for example, one module? Will it just say "MUSIC - FAIL" or will it go module by module since music is my only subject this year? Like "MU253 - PASS, MU254 - FAIL, MU255 - PASS" etc.? And if I pass everything, will it just say "MUSIC - PASS"?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 577 ✭✭✭Paczini

Do you mean that the results might be out on Thursday?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,086 ✭✭✭Fbjm

No as far as I'm aware the online results are out Friday, the paper ones will most likely come in the post on Monday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 577 ✭✭✭Paczini

Ok thanks, I just asked cause I remember that last year I got the access to my results at least few hours before they were officially out. Would you know at what time they might be out?

After 1st year, your results are given in the same ways as a degree, so 1st class honours, or 2nd class honours grade 2 etc etc (both overall and for each module). If you fail a module, it will give Fail as your overall mark.

I'd be pretty certain that they'll be online on Thursday afternoon. Usually are online the day before.

To be honest, at least it's one less day waiting around, one less sleepless night :D

It was out on Thursday afternoon after 12 last year.

You're right. Did they say last year it would be on the Friday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,625 ✭✭✭How so Joe

As far as I'm aware, the stated date for results is the date the paper arrives at your house in the post.
So generally they release the digital version the day before. Sometimes there are issues, though.

If I remember correctly the results were released online at around 12.45pm last year on the Thursday ( F5 keys didn't know what hit them).
There were issues, but almost everybody had their results at 3.00pm. A mail was sent out by the university (at around 3pm) to indicate that the results were online.

Is the consultation day just to discuss you results/paper or is it more for final year students?

For all years, to talk to your lecturer for modules you failed/want to appeal and try to see where you went wrong/what work you have to put in to pass the repeat.

They should arrive in the post on Friday. Should. Nothing is guaranteed, not with an post!

Just read this on the examinations office website

"Examination Results will be available online and will be posted on Friday 21st June, 2013 at 5pm."

    Source: http://examinations.nuim.ie/documents/ExamResults.pdf

So Thursday or Friday? The plot thickens!

I assume posted means in the post on Friday, and since they're usually put up the day before I still think they're out tomorrow.

It's happened both ways before, sometimes the results were online the day before the "official" date and other times the results were online on Friday and the posted results were received on Monday.

I really hope they are online tomorrow though, I'm waiting on my final year results, but I've been down this road before and not going to get my hopes up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭spartacus815

Even though I have my official classification of my degree (a 2 1) I still want to see my overall results, especially my thesis mark :)

It looks like it'll be Monday we'll be getting them in the post then?

Are the results actually up today, if so anyone an idea on the time?
I already know I failed 5, but still the anticipation has me on the edge of my chair..

iirc, the last 2 years they've gone up between 2 and 3 pm and arrive in the post the following day.

The server will likely crash though, it can never handle the volume of people logging on, so just be patient.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,540 ✭✭✭freeze4real

I've been checking since last night and every hour this morning.

I'm awaiting final year results and not knowing is killing.

I expect no fails, and nothing below 60.

Anything below 60 will crucify me.
