It was an excellent show apart from Jaden "rapping" and then trying to get his share of the limelight during his father's party piece. Idiot.
    Bradley Cooper was excellent.
Michael Douglas is a bona fide legend.

Bit harsh on the kid, thought the rapping was good, seemed freestyled at times. It's true he hasn't got a patch on his father when it comes to charisma or charm, but he's only 14 or something after all.

Anyway, great show, it nearly always is but every so often one like this comes along and is pure TV gold.

It's right up there with the Puff Daddy / Sarah Millican / Vince Vaughan episode and the Will.i.am / Miriam Margolyes / Greg Davies episode for me anyway.

    Yep, great episode..

You can't deny Will Smith is a bonafide gent.. very funny, quite humble and always gives 110% in interviews.

Carlton dance was legendary.. and the original:

Serious blast from the past tonight. Carlton was hilarious. At least Graham got involved too. Can't imagine Ryan Tubridy doing the same.

Carlton, Will and Father Noel Furlong doing a simultaneous dance! It's like all my Christmases came at once. By the way, why didn't Graham invite Carlton onto the sofa?

No. Last nights show was great, but Will Smith is the polar opposite of cool.

The 'wrongest' post I've ever seen on boards. :D

That was a brilliant show, everybody just seemed to be having an absolute blast. Think people are being a little hard on Jaden, he seems like a nice kid whos happy and full of life, just like his dad and that can only be a good thing.

My God the late late show in comparison...........like a decrepit, beat up old dog it needs to be put out of its misery.

    Not forgetting the other original...

It's great to see a GN thread, long overdue in my opinion!...

    Thanks for that JP Liz.

There is no doubt that he is the King of the Chat Show. I love Graham's wit, his quick come backs and the infectious laughter from him.

I have always looked at the LLS, this season without a shadow of a doubt has been the worst ever. I tape Graham and have a laugh every time. It is miles away from the misery fest we are being handed here from RTE.

Good Luck with this thread, it can only bring laughs and fun for all!!...

Graham Norton's best quality is that he can sit back and let the guests take center stage.
Compare that to someone like Jonathon Ross where he thinks he is the star of the show.

Exactly. I can never watch Jonathan Ross for that reason. Norton is by far the best on television for the chat shows imo.

So why persist with the LLS? It's a lame duck of a show that should have been put out of its misery years ago. They'll never be able to compete with the BBC for the quality of guests they can get every week, so they just shuffle out every Joe Soap they can think of to fill a show that's twice as long as it should be. In comparison, the Graham Norton Show could easily be twice as long as it currently is. I'd love if there were a few more minutes at the end for more red chair stories.

^ Gotta agree.. I don't understand the massive discussion that goes on for the LLS show here each Friday night. It's soul-less, mind-numbing dreary trash.. and the whole thread seems to be just continually pushing how bad it is.

I think the Late Late is just rubbish for country people to watch.

It's rubbish for gomeys to watch whether they are from the country or not.

I'd love to conduct a multiple choice poll among celebrities and see who they vote as their favourite chat show host. I'd bet Graham would poll high on it!

I've never really felt that a guest has been made uncomfortable by Graham. If they are uncomfortable it's because of their fellow guests.

Noce to know that nobody in an urban environment watches the Late Late Show. Of course you could be just talking out of your arse.

I thought it was just watched by country people? Maybe I'm wrong. I suppose older Dublin people watch it. Just seems like if you have lots of channels, you wouldn't sit through 2 hours of complete rubbish.

Graham is fantastically funny and his programme is still funny even when repeated. His type of humour and his format sadly will still not go down well with many Irish people. The Late Late still keeps the older (and probably rural) viewer happy, so it's rarely edgy.

Graham seems to be the only host that gets his guests to interact with each other.

True, but its nothing to do with urban/rural divides. The only way the Late Late gets half a million viewers is if you count pubs and hotels where the LLS is left on by accident after the news.

I really don't think it matters whether you're a culchie, a townie, Irish or English. You'll either like the humour or you won't.

Don't go digging a hole you won't get out of! :D

Michael Douglas is looking great too.
