Started back walking and my right leg is worrying me

    Hey guys,

I've been fairly inactive for the last good few months, a combination of a large workload at home and relying too much on home comforts. As a result I've put on a good bit of weight and I'm trying to rid that by going on nightly/late evening walks for about an hour every night to get the ball rolling.

I lost 4 stone a year ago and unfortunately, I've put it back on, but I'm trying to be proactive about it again and shed the pounds. However, I've noticed something in my right leg which is fairly worrying. I feel that lactic acid build up on the side of my right shin ,like a warming sensation, and putting my hand on it I feel the skin around it to be fairly tight and somewhat swollen. It has a slight heavy feel to it when I walk, but if I slow my walking pace down, the feeling isn't as apparent. I remember I got this a while ago and I just ignored it and it went away. I was just wondering if anyone might know what it is?

I'd go to my GP, but I'm fairly strapped until payday in 2 weeks time. I'm assuming it's to do with my weight, I just thought someone might know what it could be. I know you're not supposed to give out medical advice, and I'm not seeking it. I'm more curious to know if anyone has experienced this.

    Thank you!

    Teddi.
