Gym near Harcourt Street

Hi all, apologies if this has been asked before but I've done a search and could find nothing recent. I've recently started working just off Harcourt St in Dublin City Centre and am looking for a decent gym in the area. The only one I can see online that I would be keen on is Raw Condition. Any opinions on this place or competitors nearby? It has to be within reasonable walking distance of Harcourt St. because I will be going in the AM before work.

The only alternative is something around the Sandyford area but all I can see there is Westwood (no thanks) and Ben Dunne which I believe is manic by all accounts.

Any input or advice on this? Cheers!

Raw is probably the best gym in Ireland.

How does this reflect in attendance then? I don't mind a busy gym at all but I've been in a few where it was impossible to get anything done with the crowds. This is one of the reasons why I'm hoping to go in the morning because it probably won't be as busy as the evenings.

I should also say that running is my game, rather than lifting. I just use the gym to supplement my running (HIIT with weights, flexibility and strength training) so I need a gym that has good cardio equipment and decent floor space where I can use dumbells. If Raw can provide that then I'm sold :D

Great gym but hardly 'near Harcourt Street'...?

RAW is prob your best bet OP, sure why don't you go in for a trial session at the time you'd usually train and see how you get on. Regardless of how packed it is you're never usually left waiting long on anything.

Ben Dunne Sandyford won't be packed in the morning and would meet your needs I reckon. I'd still recommend Raw over it. Haven't been in BHAF so couldn't advise on that.

RAW is a great gym, I'd highly recommend it. My only criticisms of the place (so you can make your own mind up are):

-I wish it opened later on weekends (past 6pm)
-Morning classes can take up floor space blocking some equipment e.g. monkey bars, ropes and pull up bars. Having said that, no issues getting equipment generally in morning
-Very limited parking (given its central location) (not issue for you I'd imagine)

Thanks for the great input guys. Went to see Raw and I was very impressed with the amount of equipment they have, particularly the multiple benches and squat racks which I will be using mainly. It definitely is a lifters gym though that's for sure. I think I'm going to get a 6 month membership for here and see how it goes.

No. But it is close to the alternative area he said he'd look at - Sandyford.
