I hope it's accurate and she's not overstating the case.

That said, if it is true, I'm genuinely shocked. It's hard to believe after so much time and so many secrets kept that there could be some certainty at last for her family, and perhaps even justice for Mary in time. I hope so.

This is the quiet work I had been referring to that Ihave been involved in, Gemma has not been aware or involved in it till last week, she was then told, Now she has released this info tonight without consulting ANY of us family members .

I didnt, I havent spoke to her since June, I know who did and I can understand why they did .

but again she went ahead tonight without any warning and released the info without telling any of us.

the next tweet she is teasing everyone about tonight might tell why she has went public on it.

Or then again it might just be another tease.

Its all a big game to some,

well just seen the follow-up tweet, the proposed dig was the thing I was talking about.

The award and donor stuff is all news to me, I hope it's true .

That inference in the teeet IMO is that it's for her credibility and standing that are at stake, but anonymous awards for information are not unheard of and are not usually linked to proving anyone's credibility elsewhere.

Hey I'm all for anything that pushes the case forward, I'd rather she just tweeted the actual statement, instead of putting out a teaser first, so that I didn't think she is about to reveal every detail about the proposed dig we have been organising behind the scenes (which she is correct on that we want an independent witness there to oversee the dig, we were actually promised at first that we could be there, and this was reneged on, amongst other things )

The donor & reward thing is great if true but she should have told my cousin Ann and also Margo about it before tweeting about it as they were then inundated with enquiries about something they had never heard of, I just think it would have been the right way to do things. They also never knew that she was going to release info about the dig tonight.

I dont think know me and Gemma will ever agree on much though tbh, but, we are aiming towards the same goal IMO, im not in competition with her & I hope her plan works.

I wouldn't care if it turned out everything I believe in right now is wrong and we find Mary elsewhere, just as long as we find her.

GO'D tweeting that she will release a statement from Mary's family later.
It would be great to see everyone get closure in this case. I hope G heart us in the right place.

She's doing the same thing tonight.
Why not just tweet the announcement without the build up or is she really looking to manipulate the situation that blatantly?

There is a slightly nasty taste from it alright. People's lives, souls, and basic peace of mind should never be abused by a journalist in such fashion.

Tonights statement is something we believe.

That is if there's nothing extra added to it.

a big problem is the vacuum in Investigative journalism in Ireland that leaves us in this situation

I've been in touch with many, they won't come near the story.

Im looking elsewhere myself for help and have high hopes right now.. I'm not trying to say that in a teasing way or be purposely vague ..

because for me the way things are being handled is getting us nowhere at the moment.

To give her the benefit of the doubt, she might be on the road or very busy. I have a friend who communicates exactly like that because she works in animal rescue. She will post a quick update from her phone if something is happening (and then details when she's back home or less busy), so that her rescue people know that something's up, they might be familiar with some cases or actions as they develop and they will want to check their social media on that day or before they go to sleep etc.

Fair point, but I also work with a rescue and we have a group. Quick updates are posted in it so certain members are ready.
This isn't the same situation though.

needless to say, that statement tonight has left me speechless .


its been like the day of the long knives, myself, my sister, the Lady who organised the march for Mary in Ballyshannon & the guy who started up the Justice for Mary Boyle Facebook page have all been slandered and smeared on twitter and elsewhere by Gemma and her supporters & its culminated in the end part of this statement.

I have no idea if my cousin Ann is aware of it

but the only 2 family members she had supporting her have now been cut off from her .

Kinda lost for words just now need to sleep on it and things will be clearer in the morning hopefully .

Family are claiming the gardai "disappeared him" while complaining about the lack of garda effort to find him. GoD appears to be involved now but so far all she has done is make more allegations.

The mother seems to have had a breakdown unfortunately and seems vulnerable to someone like Gemma coming in and using her turmoil for her own ends.

You would need to check out the facebook page they have set up. Also they had a video on youtube with the allegations
