Jesus............there's thick and then there's a whole new level of brain-dead as displayed by this dope. I'm hope she gets what a-coming.

"I was thrown up onto the bonnet, I hit the side of windsrceen and the wing mirror. I bounced back off the car and went through a hedge for about 20 metres. I managed to keep control of the bike; the back brake had locked on but I managed to rejoin the road and stop in the middle of it"

"Myself and my friend burst out laughing when we finally came to a stop, more out of shock than anything else", he said. "You count your limbs and carry on".
I guess that's a good definition of HTFU?

Wait, did he manage to stay on his bike and stay up after being bounced off a car and thrown through a hedge? Kudos...

When i read it last night I had presumed it was a slight coming together in an urban area at low speed. Extraordinary to think the cyclist effectively ended up on the bonnet and this imbecile thought it ok to continue on her way laughing it off. If she ever gets back on the road it will be a day to soon.

She's made the BBC amongst other news outlets. More info here
He wasn't going to notify the police until he heard about her tweet on it. Her bosses commented on road.cc about it so can't see her still being in employment there after this.

Whaddya think she does for a living?

    Driving instructor? Mirror, Signal, Ram!
Zen Meditation Guru? Free your mind of all thoughts (as you accelerate around the corner on the wrong side of the road).
Paramedic trying to drum up a bit of business?
Life Assurance Salesman? What would happen to your family if someone tried to make an attempt on your life... Right Now!

The most despicable thing is leaving the scene of the crash without checking whether the guy she hit was dead or alive. Real "if I run away, everything will be okay" attitude. Not good enough.

Nice skills from the cyclist though. Had a vaguely similar slide down a bonnet and remount incident years back, but me and the car were heading the same way at the time.

    From ipayroadtax.com
The police had been alerted to Emma Way’s comments by twitter users shocked at her hate comment against cyclists. Ms Way was quickly identified from her Facebook page and the police were sent other examples of her poor driving: she had taken taking photographs of herself tailgating other motorists, and even photographed her speedometer showing a speed of 95mph.

    That's mad Ted!

She's a trainee accountant according to some of the articles/comments.

I have no idea about the situation in the UK but I'm pretty sure you can't practice as an accountant if you have a criminal record here in Ireland. Probably the same there I imagine.

She doesn't seem to regret committing the crime but I think she'll regret that tweet for a very long time. I'm glad.

Not at all. She'll become a celeb. I bet Jeremy Clarkson is phoning her at this very moment, offering her a job on his show.

Thank god for the stupidity of criminally stupid people. Thinking that twitter was the place where only like minds reside and everybody agrees with your phenomenally entitled attitude.

Fair play to your man for keeping the bike upright after getting put on the bonnet, wind screen, through a hedge, into a field then back onto the road. Well done man, very well done.

It's lucky he didn't have video footage of the dangerous driving as the great masses of the internets would vilify him for recording it.

You mean, for riding at the car on purpose, in order to get hit and do a nice stunt, in order to produce entertaining YouTube footage?

I'm sure he would only become a bete-noir if he filmed the incident and he let out an audible expletive as he was sliding off the bonnet and into the brambles. I mean, who would stand for such language?!

Based on how the reactions of the recent video, I'm sure some of our motoring/AH forum brethren could find fault with the cyclist, even in this situation...

Can't we all just get along? ;)

Reminds me a little of an incident here in Dublin last week - I wonder if anyone here knows what the follow up was?

About 9.30 in the morning I met a guy leaving his Dublin Bike at the Smithfield south station. He looked pretty shaken and the rear wheel of the DB was buckled. He said he was cycling south-west on Back Lane (the small one-way street which links Patrick Street to High Street, its a well known 'short cut' for cyclists wanting to avoid the junction at Christchurch. He said he met a car driven by a woman coming the wrong way up the one way street, and stopped her, blocking her way as she tried to squeeze past him (its very narrow). He said she screamed at him words to the effect of 'you don't count, you are a cyclist!', and promptly ran over the bike.

I assume this one wasn't stupid enough to tweet it.

Absolutely, that's why I said some. The topic has a thread on the motoring forum too, and again, some are looking at the cyclist for fault.

I've just gone through that thread and not a single poster blamed the cyclist - one tried to claim the majority of accidents are caused by cyclists but his arguments were shot down by others, and he acknowledged the driver was to blame for this particular incident

In fairness according to the motorists she pays "road tax", cyclists don't (despite our cars) and we should pay it.

I see no flaws in the logic :)

To save all this confusion about the nature and purpose of this tax, would it not be better to rename it to something more accurate and clearer: how about "Dirty Polluter Duty"?

I think it's gone beyond damage limitation maneuvers like that for her. She bragged about hitting a cyclist, failure to stop having been involved in an accident and failure to report the accident. She has shown to have no value for human life and trying to wriggle out of it in this stupid manor claiming to be a cyclist herself is showing that she is willing to say anything to wriggle out of it. She was caught red-handed and she should do porridge for this despicable act. That video has made me angry.
