    Hello all,

So Ive finally decided I really need to start looking after my body a lot more than I have been. Ive been piling on the pounds since I started in my new job a few months ago - such that my clothes are feeling quiet tight right now and I want to tackle it. My hours are crazy long and Im usually at work for 12h of the day and sometimes have to go in on the weekends. I just dont have the time right now to head out to the gym, cycle etc as by the time I get home and eat something Im ready to drop....so Im looking for suggestions for some exercises that I could do from home (not requiring any equipment) - to lose some weight, tone up and strengthen up. I dont on a scales right now, but last time I was weighed I was about 11.5 stone - and Im probably about 12.5 now, and am about 170cm and 32 years old. Im starting to feel pressure on my knees right now too so really need to sort myself out.

I realise diet is also important so am very much open to suggestions. Right now its quite poor. For lunch I normally grab a coffee and a panini (cheese and tomato) at work, or if I have time to make lunch I will just bring a ham/cheese roll usually. For dinners I normally and cook and try not to get takeouts. I generally make a pasta bake, curries, spag bol, chicken alfredo, roast veg with rice....and I try to watch the portion sizes. Though if Im particularly rushed I will just end up cooking a frozen pizza or chips etc. (but I really try not to!) The meal I struggle the most with is breakfast - Im really intolerant to cereals like granola, porridge, wholemeal breads.....they all make me feel really ill. So usually I end up just having tea and toast or a bagel....so any suggestions would be very welcome. Typing that, I realise that I dont really seem to eat very much....but still gaining too much weight!

    Yesterdays food:
Breakfast - bagel with cheese spread, tea with skimmed milk, no sugar
Lunch- ham and low fat cheese roll (probably about 6inch long), pack of malteesers (I caved!), apple and coffee
Dinner- roast peppers, carrots and 5 or six mini potatoes roasted (tossed in olive oil and spoon of honey)
    Snack- Tea and 2 clementines

Any advice appreciated as I need to sort myself out!

Try one of the calorie counters like myfitnesspal.com, and check out what your eating over a week. If you're honest and track everything, you'll see the reason right there. The Nutrition & Diet forum is great for tips.

I found when I was working long shifts, I was tired a lot, ended up not giving a sh*t what I was eating, and ate a lot of sh*t.

If you get on top of diet, you could try body weight/calisthenics on here or look into something like pilates.

Just signed up to that calorie counter - looks good. It is true you care less about what you eat when youre totally wrecked. My diet definitely needs to improve significantly; I feel I've finally mentally committed to getting on top of it so fingers crossed I can shed a few pounds.
