Cian, although I was never a fan on convertibles I always liked the MX5. That one you got looks absolutely class and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit jealous.

Well wear and welcome to proper car ownership i.e. this is where the fun starts ;)

I like Rieger thing. Though I remember their stuff from back in the day and everyone knew it is good stuff.

Maybe it looks a bit Showcar outdated now?

Yeah that's what I was thinking, Plus I'll be attempting a bit of a diy respray, so maybe just stick with the standard

Went for a spin out to blessington via the sally gap and n81. There was loose chippings the whole way - thought the car was going to be riddled with stone chips. At least it wasnt.

Why cant we tarmac a road properly???

Also - cyclists  out in the middle of the road, on those tight roads up the mountains.

Also - drive back home and go to drive into my driveway, there is a woman on the phone parked across it. I beep her and she waves me to go round  eh i live here and am clearly indicating in you muppet!

And finally, when turning right you move up into the yellow box. And just because there is a filter light doesnt mean you cant go on a full green light too!! Retard today in a silver ford missed two lights. I beeped her and she gives me the finger?? EH hello missus wake up and think.

Will do! I think it is the sump guard on the golf, perhaps the astra is differently laid out underneath but I would hazard a guess that the piece is linked to guarding the sump.

Well today I drove my car for the last time until the 3rd of September.
I have been getting all nostalgic about the time we've spent together so far. Like how when I first got it I thought it had no personality at all. I bought it simply as it was the fastest car that I could afford to own, I had no fondness for Toyota and thought that Levins were total scumbag cars. The only cars I had eyes for were Italian and usually had a Lancia badge. Then, gradually, as I got to know it better over the last 14 or so months it grew on my. It revealed that it did in fact have a personality, always cheeky, making you look to see if you can zip through that gap, go for that overtake, take that corner faster than you did last time and encouraging you to play with the lift off oversteer on that roundabout! It feels so eager to please and wants to make you smile as you chase it to the 8k red line before snatching the next gear and then another.
It has got to the point where I know nearly little quirk about it and every little noise and vibration it makes. I have long since forgiven all of it's weak points and shortcomings and just accept and love it the way it is.

Here is a pic of how it is going to sit for the next 45 days :(
I really am going to miss it :(:(

Yeah sounds like a goo excuse for a road trip.
