Hmmm. Am trying to find prices/part numbers for spark plugs for my car.

I cannot find them under any of the myriad listings of parts on micks garage, not engine parts, transmission parts, starting parts.

However I am 12.50 richer after bringing the drycleaning to the cleaners and discovering the OH had failed to empty his suits :D

edit: I found them under service parts

    Now I'm completely baffled.

    http://www.micksgarage.com/service-parts/spark-plugs/alfa-romeo/gtv/gtv/1994-2005/2.0-t.spark-16v/9427

I've bosch spark plugs that are about 8 euro and 3 euro each (I need four of each) then I've ones that are 22 and 10 each, then I've ones that are an eye watering 62.99 each (for both types)

Mechanic said to price bosch plugs and now I'm suspicious as they are so cheap

Hmmph the 62.99 ones are NGK ones, original alfa plugs, and partsworld in the UK sell a set of eight for £69.99 so about €90/€100 from partsworld for the eight, as opposed to almost €500 from micksgarage for eight:eek:

    Lolwut.

62.99 for a single plug? I think someone has ducked up in the pricing there. That'd buy you a set.

Yeah something stupid going on there, I tried the mister auto parts site, and the NGKs were about €22 each there. So still getting a good price from partsworld and they came recommended :)

Just to double check, if I get 2 new front tyres fitted by atlas, will they do a wheel alignment as well?

That'd normally be extra anywhere I've ever been.

Just been looking at pictures of Skodas new Rapid Spaceback. It looks very agreeable. I've also just learn that the Fabia VRS shall not be replaced

The rapid and it's Seat cousin are awful looking yokes. At least the Fabia was quirkily ugly, the rapid is just rotten. Pity the Fabia vrs is gone, fun little car that. Never sold as well as it deserved to as a petrol.

This is the Rapid Sportback version. It looks like a miniture A4 hatch. If it's specced right it wouldn't be bad looking.

I'll lament the VRS. It should be selling in better numbers. If they had kept it diesel it would be.

Slightly confusingly I've also unearthed this under the same name (looks like a Citroen C4)

It's not as nice as the above image at all. I wonder will the above hatch be making it to market?

So who here has a good technical mind?

I've been offered a Rover SD1 V8. I've been forwarded a previous ad below however I'm still awaiting pictures. It's currently not for sale but was forwarded on by a mate who knows I'm currently looking. I'm currently interested but thinking I'm a bit mad all the same. VRT, NCT and tax would be the biggest issues. Let me rephrase that, tax is mental.

The following is the blurb from a previous ad for it by the same owner:
Rover SD1 V8 3.5L efi, VdP 1986 ..97,000m. 2 prev owners. ... A lot of folk don't read these tech mods and just want it to look and smell nice, and sell it on. I would prefer to sell to someone technical. Converted to 5 speed man. 3.08 diff. with 5th gear changed from .79 to .73, 36mph/1000rpm, no body else done it, 34mpg. great cruiser, economical. All the sophisticated mods that nobody else does... special resistor across temp sensor ecu.(Rover approved) new spherical diff bearings, new rear torque tube bearing, new clutch master & slave cyl, prop converted to uj's (very nice), lightened flywheel, Jag. lightweight gudgen pins, balanced, 10.5 P6 pistons, ported, hydraulic tappets, duplex roller cam chain, JE101 cam, thrust button, std springs, 4-2-1 extractors, oil cooler, centre box removed, correct dist advance springs, small steering wheel, new ball joints/ sus. rubbers. Vitesse beater! -who needs twin plenum? Monroe rear air suspension, 6 wheels, 225x60x15 rear, 205x60x15 front.Electric roof, tow bar, no rust. Spare heads, rack, exh manifolds, water pump, alternator. std Flywheel xtra. I am 3rd owner acquired 1999. Electrics fine. Radio/cassette is old, works but not connected. Trip comp, don't work, as mild drain was fixed by disconnecting. Larger non std battery. Never run in rain so no water in boot or front wells. Carpets as new. Clutch pedal modified so shoe don't get stuck. There's no rot, surface rust bits only, always garaged. sounds and goes great. Needs new tail gate gas springs, aerial, under bonnet sound proofing....sold with 12 months MOT from Sept.
