    Hello all

I have a Baystar 38 that I would like to restore to a more pristine condition. Can anyone tell me where I could get such things as rubber hull protectors, etc.?

    Regards

    Tom

Hi tommbyrne and welcome, if you are looking for an original part it might be worth asking on the broom owners club http://www.broomowners.com/ If you just want to fix it up post a photo of what you are looking for and I will try and help out.

    Thanks Fergal!

I'll post some pics tomorrow. The wife and I are making an inventory of what needs to be done. I put a bowthruster on it last year which made it rather easier to handle and we've put on some more fenders and done up the interior - but I think given the windy weather, the size of the boat and my relative inexperience replacing all the original protection is a high priority!

By the way, I looked at the Broom Owners Club and it seems you have to go through a joining process by snail mail before you can post - I'll do this, butin the meantime I'd be glad of any advice.

If you can put in a bow thruster you can do just about any type of work on a boat :D As they are more or less flat bottom boats they are easily affected by the wind and can take a bit of getting used to.
They were used by a lot of hire companies like emerald star so they might also be a good place to ask about replacement rub rail as I'm sure they have done one or two over the years :)
    You could also try these
http://www.truelightmarine.ie/hardware.html and get them to fit it as it can be hard work getting it bend and fit right.
