    Right Gentlemen....
Team choices, formations, comments and predictions in here please....

Dont want any conundrums, cos we all know them by now.
    My gut feeling is positive....
If we had been thumped at home in our last 2 games,im sure our lads would be really trying to give us fans a decent send off and also to ruin another clubs chances of CL football.
Plus the fact that Newcastle won at the weekend, i feel they have at least a draw left in them...

I dunno, half of me wants AVB to give the fringe players a go but on the other hand we have to win (just in case).

I'd deffo start Tom Carroll, don't think he would have anything to fear going up against Sunderlands MF.

Lastly, we better not f***ing concede from another bloody corner. Its a joke at this stage!

Give fringe players a chance in what could be our biggest game of the season , are you crazy ??

    lloris
    walker daws verts ekotto

    lennon dembele parker dempsey

    bale
    ade

This could possibly be the last game for ekotto / daws and parker . I have been a huge fan of parker but in the last few games i have really seen what he offers which im afraid is nothing.

Arsenal lose, Chelsea lose 9-0, Spurs win 8-0. We finish 3rd spot.

Not gonna put a bet on it. Don't want to jinx it!!!

Still think we'd beat Sunderland with a few players not usually in the start X1 - Brad, Caulker, Carroll, start Siggy, give Dempsey a full 90 mins etc.

Anyone know what matches are going to be shown on Sky on Sunday? Realistically our game and Arsenal's are the only ones of any interest so both should really be shown. If they are, I know I'll be watching the Arsenal game as that's arguable more important than ours!

As for our match, strongest squad available please. Make sure of the 3 points just in case Newcastle turn up and somehow get something out of Arsenal.

ours and arsenals are on sky sports 1+2. parker is woeful,we need to keep d ball,id play 4-3-3. lloris, walker,Dawson, caulker, vert,
    Carroll,dembele,hudd
    lennon,ade,bale

We will be going full strength to win, no chances taken, maybe 4-4-2?

Carroll will probably play 90mins for the U-21s on Monday.

can't see avb playing 4-4-2.i wouldn't be playing parker full stop. we're at home,we should have more of the ball and tryin to use it correctly. not running into dead ends or spinning round on the ball in the centre circle

On a serious note, why is Parker playing the way he has been this season - I mean, Modric played the deep lying play maker role for the last few years and I don't recall Parker always getting in his way, been too far upfield all the time and generally giving the ball away, these are not his strengths - if anyone should be playing the side-ways, simple passes its Parker not Hudd/Holtby/Dembele/Dempsey et el? You can only assume that AVB is instructing him to get involved in the attacks.

surely avb is more tactically aware to know parker shouldn't be attacking or carrying the ball.he could play against the better teams who will keep the ball better and he can press and harry them but in a game we should be dominating id rather have a guy who's better on the ball then him

I think....they mentioned it in the arsenal forum that both them and us were being shown. It's the only game that has any bearing, so would make sense. No doubt Sky will have some silly billing for it?

I did take a pretty nasty bump at training last night. Maybe I have a slight concussion.

The last day against stoke , parker would pass it off and then just run towards the ball again and actually get in the way of the pass forward!

It was terrible stuff to see , more like schoolboy soccer.

Dempsey is a banker to start after his exploits against stoke.
Siggy is more dynamic than Dempsey as is Holtby more so than Hud or Parker. I'd like to see us start with a fast tempo rather than a rushed effort towards the end after toiling for 80 or so minutes as has been the case lately.

Leave Bale and Dembele and Ade on the bench just in case we aren't winning with 10 mins to go.

I don't think so play the best team possible and try make sure of the result. It would look well if the other result went our way and all we can manage is a draw with our best players on the bench.

He bought a load of new players last summer with no champions league. If I remember right he was very quiet the summer of the one time we actually had Champions League.

So to answer your question no I don't think he'll buy a load of players but some of those players won't be either at the club next season nor starting.

but he also sold 2 of our better players.he still broke even money wise which is his main aim.i can't see bale staying and if a good enough offer comes in,levy will bite their hands off.like holtby, dempsey and siggy play in pretty much the same position.

You asked about signing loads of new players. Nothing about money... He signed plenty of players last summer and sold plenty. My point still stands. That lineup has a number of players who won't be starters next season.

it all comes down to money wit levy.we sold pav, kranjcar, pienaar, corluka, vdv and modric.we signed vert, siggy, ade, dembele, dempsey and holtby.i was being sarcastic when i said it'd be our 1st team next year but if bales gone then the rest will think they've a good opportunity of starting and unfortunately that's not going to improve our league position.we've finished 4th,5th,4th and more then likely,5th again.we need more quality and for that you need to spend which levy won't do

In my view Levy has played a blinder as Chairman and I cannot understand the negativity that some people have towards him. His most notable achievements were bringing Modric's agent to heel and getting an extra year out of him. Most clubs just roll over when their star wants to move but Levy laid down the marker that he expected people to honour their contracts. He pulled a fast one on Holtby and annoyed SAF for which I will be eternally grateful and he also tied Bale into a long contract which will prove very lucrative for the club. If Kaboul was fit and either or both of Adeboyer and Defoe showed even a tiny bit of form all year, the current team would be at least 3rd and more likely even higher.

Lashing out 60-70 M is all well and good but the players involved will want 100K+ per week on 5 year contracts too. That would destroy the team ethic as Spurs could not finance the knockon claims from current players. Plus if lashing money on players and contracts was a recipe for success Roberto Mancini wouldn't be down at the dole office this week.

if but were not.were 5th. arsenal haven't spent much last few yrs but are still in the champions league every yr because at the business end of the season they grind out results.he signed ade because he was cheap.when we really needed a striker in January he went for damaio but pulled out.why?because he felt the deal was too much so why didn't he go for someone else?like what's this affiliation with Madrid that was in with the modric deal for if we'll never get anyone off them?

Prefer yourself for the worst I'd say. In typical spurs fashion we will probably lead the whole game and arsenal will either get a last minute winner or we will concede a last minute equalizer. Basically, we will be teased(fooled) into thinking the unthinkable might just happen and then it will be cruelly snatched away in the dying moments.

You can add in the dodgy lasagne, Harry getting / not getting the England job, Muamba having his cardiac arrest (that must have seriously effected players) to the Boaz Myhill 'You Have Been Framed' audition.

Luck is meant to balance out apparently. I am fully expecting Howard Webb to nod in for us at the far post from a Chris Foy pinpoint cross, while Arsenal score 3 OGs.

He signed Ade cos he had nigh on the most goals+assists in the league last season. He might not have had much of a transfer fee, but make no mistake, he was NOT cheap.

Any decent chairman will pull out of a deal if he thinks it's no longer a good deal. He also won't panic buy. It would be nice if he had several strikers of equal ability lined up but real life doesn't work like Championship Manager.

We significantly improved our first team and squad last summer, I think there can be no doubt about that.

Spending money is always the most obvious thing to do but it's not always the best. QPR and Stoke have spend massive amounts recently and have gotten worse as a result.

As painful as last seasons final day results not going our way, this Sunday is going to be even worse. Last year even though Ar****l pipped us at the post on the last day in eteh Premiership we still were in 4th place with the knowledge that unless Chelsea performed some sort of miracle in the Champions league final v Bayern Munich, we would end up in the Champions league. And then they somehow did it. Thanks Robben.
This year its simple. Beat Sunderland and hope that Newcastle don't roll over and 4th place is ours. I have a funny feeling we are going to do it. Don't ask me why but the closer we get to the game the more confident I am getting. Anyone fancy sending up some dodgy lasagnes to the Ars***l hotel in Newcastle?

he was 5million and maybe 100k a week.that's not expensive for a striker i think for a team attempting at champions league qualification.he's a month in January to gather some realistic targets and all summer aswell.you don't have to do it all in 1 day for the benefit of sky sports news

I would be very surprised with that. Resting players on the last day of the season? Whatever about Defoe, Verts and Dembele have to start. Carroll to come on if things are going well but resting players in this game would make no sense seeing as the season will be over.
