Albums that are great from beginning to end?

You know the way it is, even some amazing albums can have a couple of duds. An otherwise worthy effort that has a track you always skip, maybe it was just a filler track, but it's forgettable? Nothing wrong with that really,it's bound to happen, and even some of my favourite albums have tracks I skip. Then there's albums that somehow manage to tick all the boxes with you, and is fantastic from start to finish. What are those albums for you?

Recently I've been listening to Matenrou Opera a lot, their 2012 masterpiece Justice absolutely blew me away! It's just fantastic, epic and hits all the right notes with me :D

Very few albums fit into the category of "All killer, no filler". But a few spring to my mind as albums where I'd love every song on it:

-Piece Of Mind by Iron Maiden (their best album for my money)
    -1987 by Whitesnake
-Thunder And Lightning by Thin Lizzy
    -Van Halen by Van Halen
-Slippery When Wet by Bon Jovi
-Out Of The Cellar by Ratt
    -Hysteria by Def Leppard
    -Holy Diver by Dio
    -Painkiller by Judas Priest
-Appetite For Destruction by Guns N Roses
-Shout At The Devil by Motley Crue
-Love At First Sting by Scorpions

cheesy as fúck some of them, but they're my "go-to" albums... and each and every one of them was released between 1978 and 1990. :o

Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves by Rush are both fantastic with no filler. They have a lot of awesome albums but most have one or two weak songs but those two nail it from start to finish

Dream Theater - Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory

    Every song is pure gold.
Each song is a scene and the entire album tells a very interesting story.

The Four Cyclists of the Apocalypse - The Bleach Boys

I didn't mention that as I felt that - as amazing as it is, and as technically impressive in how it's been crafted - some people may find it heavy listening to appreciate in its entirety. It's essentially the metal equivalent of an orchestral "suite" or opus. Taken as an album it's superb; taken as individual songs (or movements if we stick with my orchestral assertions) it's a bit more subjective to the listener's taste.

Personally I love it for the record.

Also, I don't think it's been said yet, and as much as people may find it fashionable to slag off Metallica; I will also add "Master of Puppets" to my list.

Antenna by Cave in,The Eternal Return by Darkest Hour and Traced in air by Cynic are a few I could listen through easily.Especially Traced in air as it's not too long.Don't listen to full album's in one go as much anymore now with every tune ever created ever just a click away.

One of those albums that's all-around great from start to finish would be Gates to Purgatory by Running Wild. Excellent early black metal.

    Good call.

I can also listen to Led Zep 3, Depeche Mode's Violator, Stone Roses' Second Coming, Ride The Lightening, and the first Kula Shaker album end-to-end without skipping. Much.

Silver Spoons and Broken Bones by Stone Gods - Highly underrated band that played a variety of styles, pity they had to split.

Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies by Volbeat - Got this album a month ago and haven't stopped listening to it, not one bad song on it

The Arockalpyse by Lordi - Over the top and cheesy but well written and great fun.

Runnin' Wild by Airbourne - Just a good time band, yes they are ripping off AC/DC but they are so good at it that I just couldn't give a f*ck.

Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath - Probably my Favourite Dio album, Children Of The Sea is a masterpiece.

The Way of all Flesh by Gojira is the only album of theirs I listen to without skipping any tracks, phenomenal stuff imo.

Demanufacture by Fear Factory, still sounds as fresh today as it ever did.

Like wise Chaos AD by the mighty Sepultura.

Finally, Burn My Eyes by Machine Head, for my money, the best metal debut Ive ever heard.

Can't believe no one mentioned Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness yet.

It wasnt the fact that it was one class song after another that makes it exceptional. Its the fact that the album was a double album with 28 songs that really stands out for me.
Most top notch bands struggle to make an album with 2-5 top class songs but smashing pumpkins went for industrial style output.

And the best songs were the ones that were not released as singles.

    Sheer class!
