    30 minutes in....
Northampton currently 14 - 0 up away to Saracens.

This could turn into a try fest if the pace is kept up like this

Saracens have lost Charlie Hodgson too, so Farrell now at 10. Northampton have just got a penalty so 17-0 up now. Big surprise....to me anyway!

    Myler penalty, 17-0

Still hate that pitch so much. Looks too odd.

Northampton playing some decent rugby. Our mate Lawes getting around the pitch.

Racing Metro's new front row doing well too

The in-goal area's seem pretty small compared to other pitches...

And the posts and blue pitch surround are horrible.

There's bound to be some very annoyed Ulstermen watching this.

At least they're able to play some rugby on a rainy day rather than having a mudbath.

Farrell misses penalty from 20m nearly infront of the posts, awful miss.

    1:30 left in the half...

To be fair from the games I've seen there a lot of kickers struggle on the artificial pitch, Myler's missed 2.

Half time, Farrell and Stevens(in the scrums) aren't doing their Lions prospects any good.
Northampton really fired up, running everything and kicked penalties to the corners instead of taking 3 pointers.

Dunno where this performance from Northampton has come from! Fair play to them. Boards.ie's Public Enemy Number 1 seems to be having a pretty great game thus far, he'll be very important if they want to win this one.

Re: the pitch, got to see it in person a little while ago. It seems much better than any of the ones I've played on when I was in Ireland, but I still hate artificial surfaces.

Sarries fans are making plenty of noise in fairness to them. Reinforcing my belief that despite the utter eejits in the board room, the fans of the club are still AGBOL.

So so poor from Strettle there.

David Strettle just BUTCHERED a try. Amazed he couldn't score that.

    Why didn't he pass?

Watching the match too. Saints really on top of things. Sarries a bit pacy at the start of the second half though.

never mind pass, if he'd done absolutely ANYTHING logical other than what he did do, it would have been a try.

A pass, a dive, not checking his line etc.

All of them are scores there imo.

    Sarries are very poor.

Saracens have started better in second half, but Northampton looking comfortable. Strettle should have been in for that try.

The Northampton scrum can be such a weapon when it goes right.

    Owen Farrell, average at best

What does anyone think of JP's reffing? I think he's having a good game.

Sarries finally on the board, 3-17

    Another Saracens penalty, 6-17

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,075 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

To be fair, that's two good kicks from Farrell.
