I picked up my mahogany for the deck today so now I have to pick what way to finnish it, I have narrowed it down to these so what do you think.

For me, pic no. 2 no contest (I hope I've voted correctly in the poll!). Very, very classy looking!

    At a push no. 1.

The black surround doesn't do it for me at all I'm afraid.

ETA - what a shine! I'm well impressed!!!

If I was to go with the black it would not be a solid black more like an ebony and you would still see the wood grain if that's any help.

Who would have thought you could get 16 foot lengths of timber in a car :D

I was praying no one would run into the back of me on the drive back from Wicklow as it would cost more to replace the mahogany than the back of the car :D

No 1 ... its not the caulk.... totally, but the shading on the king and sides does it for me .

They all look good! Well, No.3 with the black boarder looks a bit like a victorian aquabatmobile. No.2 is the best of the bunch IMHO.

    Not so shinny now.
There were a few places that I wasn't happy with so today I started stripping off all the fiberglass with a heat gun and scrapper, not a nice job :(

White looks best as long as it'll be as shiny as the pic - slippery as hell though when wet I reckon :)

Both the first two are very good, i prefer the black chalking slightly more than the white, and as you have white in your current boat black chalking is a must, or the white chalking could become your trademark, now my head hurts.

I plunked for #2 but the black bordered with the grain showing through could look great too. Forget the white caulking - too Mediterranean looking.

Any option though is going to look stunning all glossed up!

I hope you took sharp turns in town carefully with that rear overhang, maybe check for blood in case you scythed any pedestrians off at the knees. You'd want to scrub it in case it stained the wood.

I vote for No 1. - my other choices are the same order as the order posted. No.s 3 and 4 look like something a Miami rapper/drugdealer would have.

I just realised I said no1 was my favourite but I accidentally voted for no3.

Hope this doesn't mess up your decision too much.

Not me, I voted for #1.:P She has beautiful lines, so they will overcome what I regarded as my second choice! Looking forward to seeing the completion photos.
