Yeah yeah, it's over a month away (starting on June 26th), but for those who want a warm up, you might like to know that the first season of Big Brother Canada just wrapped up.

Exact same format as the US (HoH, PoV, 29 episodes etc.)
Same bitchiness, back stabbing, secret alliances, blindsides, etc.

I'm about half way through and it's really flippin' good. :)

Must check out. It'll whet my appetite for the US one...

Big bro Canada is definitely worth a watch!LOVED it!

There's a couple of dodgy twists thrown in &let's just say, a final that you will definitely be talking about for days afterwards! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit amateurish at the start but it definitely found it's feet after a while and I was as hooked as ever by the end.

    A solid BB season.

Don't think I'll ever get used to the accents though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

About a third of the way through BB Canada. Loving it. Great cast. I love the accents.

2nd that! Loved BB Canada especially the final :)

I found BB Candana hot mess to be honest. That finale was the icing on the cake, dunno if ill watch BB Canada season 2. The accents were so heavy on some of them, I know Canadians and they don't have such a heavy accent like some of that cast. Or maybe I don't notice it in person.

Can't wait for The Chenbot back again. Very excited for BBUSA 2013

I just finished the finale. Topaz is officially a moron.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

I'm a tad skeptical about the whole thing. I initially dismissed the allegations of a producer fix but I'm not sure now. Surely she can't be that stupid.

    YOU HAD ONE JOB TOPAZ

She really screwed the pooch on that one.
I don't think you have to be stupid to make a mistake like that. It's human error, her brain simply switched off and she wasn't really thinking what she was doing.
To be honest once The Shield were out, I mostly lost interest.

I was really rooting for Peter.

Made even funnier with her whole 150% sure line that she repeated. Enjoyed the season though, didn't notice the accent as much as others did. Just as well as I'm moving there in January :D

    Where do guys watch this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

It's usually on YouTube actually, there tends to be a user you uploads the episodes and they tend to remain up for quite a while.

There's some REALLY good looking women in BBUSA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    There usually is. :)

Good mix of people this year (although they get the same kind of mix every year - the jock, the muscle guy, the beauty queen, the outsider, the floaters who don't stand out, etc.)

I like the MVP twist. I think that will really shake the game up.

It's not on television, can be streamed from US. I usually catch up on you tube (search QUIRKEYDUDE - his site usually has full episodes after they air in US)

Liking this season so far, Jessie is wrecking my head though. Does she really believe she is that gorgeous? The other girls are head and shoulders above her looks wise.

The MVP twist will definitely shake things up though. If that wasn't introduced I could see that all male alliance running the game completely!

My early favourites are Amanda, Judd and McCrae...

    Can't stand Jessie or David

Well seems the racism and homophobia is already rampant among certain HGs.

Aayrn, Kaitlin and GinaMarie apparently the biggest culprits. Spencer and Jeremy thrown in for good measure.
    http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/big_brother_15/2013_Jul_01_bb15-racism-homophobia-misogyny

In fairness CBS haven't exactly give Aaryn and Kaitlin good edits thus far but with the MVP happening I do feel like CBS should edit some of this in so that viewers see what kind of people these players are.

In terms of faves I like Elissa, Amanda and Nick. I know Elissa will be targeted for the Rachel connection  I feel bad for Candice seems some girls are a little jealous or of course racist, one or the other.

Hope this guys alliance breaks down, we don't need The Brigade 2.0.

How racist is Aaryn? Holy crap.... I watch a lot of reality TV and I've never seen anything as racist as that collection of clips in episode 5.

It was horrible to watch! If she is talking like that to relative strangers on national tv, what must she be saying at home? I don't think I would be able to hold my tongue if I was in that house.

Howard saying that he was staying quiet for his "game" just screamed "coward" to me. He heard what she was saying, said it was hurtful, but did nothing about it.

Aaryn is without doubt the most unlikable contestant ever (that includes all from season 9!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

This is the first time CBS hasn't covered up the racist or homophobic stuff house guests have said. However while I'm happy in one respect apparently Gina Marie is just as bad and they only aired one comment from her. Jeremy and Spencer apparently are saying misogynist and homophobic stuff that also wasn't included.

Props to CBS on one level but its not just Ayran who is saying stuff VaGina Marie is too.

I love how when they contemplate the fact Howard, Candice or Spencer flipped they assume its Howard with no evidence i.e. the darkest of the three.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Yikes, looks like some house guests are in for a surprise (unemployment!) when they get out of the house.

    http://www.digitalspy.ie/ustv/s69/big-brother-usa/news/a496539/big-brother-usa-spencer-clawson-slammed-by-employer-in-racism-storm.html

Spencer is the latest to lose his job. Aaryn also lost her modelling contract and GinaMarie lost her job at a pageant company. It also looks like David would have ended up unemployed if he had stayed in the house any longer.

Do these people not realise that cameras and mics are on them 24/7, recording everything that they say?

    http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/big_brother_15/2013_Jul_01_bb15-racism-homophobia-misogyny

The article above has most of the comments made up to and including what we saw in episode 5.
To be fair I think the comments made by McCrae, Amanda and Kaitlin were taken out of context and while they probably shouldn't have made them I don't think any malice or disrespect was intended...
The rest of them though are a shower of racist, homophobic, misogynistic bastards...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

Thanks god Nick went, just to see VaGina Marie blubbing away haha.

Another racist incident occurred, the douchebag alliance flipped over Candice's bed, when she confronted them Aayrn and GM started making fun of her accent and GM making a comment about "you want the black to come out"

They also harassed Jessie about her bed situation.

    All in this video

WOW! Just WOW! Words can't describe how angry that made me...

Candice, Howard, Jessie, Judd, Helen, Elyssa, Andy, Amanda and McCrae (+ possibly Spencer although his misogynistic comments are outrageous) need to all band together and get rid of that bunch of ignorant, racist, sadistic bastards!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 726 ✭✭✭dubsgirl

That is simply disgraceful! If it was BBUK they would be out the door...

Was I the only one totally floored by this? I don't have live feeds and I was sure Elissa was a goner until the actual vote. Spencer voting for nick was the biggest shock for me so far (although people watching the live feed said it did flip and spencer and Howard knew they needed to change their votes to stay with the majority).
Helen is MVP for me this week. She seems so lovely and a smart player.

The moving company only lasted 1 week - worst alliance ever! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

Yeah apparently Howard and Spencer were notified about the house voting Nick, they knew McCrae had decided to go with Amanda so Spencer flipped, surprised Howard didn't actually, people watching the feeds said they thought it would be 8-3 rather than 7-4.

Apparently Aayrn also knew just before the live show what was happening so no major reaction from her, unlike VaGina Marie.

As was pointed out in BBUK they'd be ejected but I actually like the fact CBS is keeping them in to show their true colours and they will be well and truely judged by the court of public opinion upon their eviction.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

I wonder how Aaryn will feel when she realises that she caused that disclaimer that appears before every episode now? I'd love if they did a "One Month Later" episode in October. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,366 ✭✭✭✭Kylo Ren

Kinda pissed Jeremy is gone. I don't like when strong players are outed so early.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,021 ✭✭✭bopper

Was he really a strong player though? He went in there all guns blazing acting like he ran the place. That's the dumbest thing anyone can do at the start of the game.

I think the rest of the contestants are foolishly mistaking being physically strong as being a strong player. They're targeting all the muscular guys even though the likes of Mcrae who's half their size is much smarter.

Howard is becoming a target now, again because of his size, even though he hasn't won a single competition yet and has made some really dumb moves!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

I agree they are too obsessed with physical strength. Physical prowess is really not that useful in BB except the occasional endurance HOH.

Of the 4 evicted thus far I reckon only Nick and possibly Kaitlin were actually real game threats (Kaitlin however was cast and never really watched the show so despite her good comp results I'm not sure she has a BB brain).

People like Amanda and McCrae are more dangerous than Jeremy and Howard. I partially blame S12 for this targeting of strong guys, that season had a strong guy alliance that floated on by while Rachel focused on getting rid of people like Kristen and Monet. Ever since I think players are always skeptical of boys alliances. Honestly after S9 it was the worst season because Ragan, Kathy and Britney were total idiots.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

But season 12 had Britney, ergo it could not be the second worst season.

I think the physically strong players/athletes are rightly targeted because it's an asset that can dominate when given the correct competitions.

Strategic players may believe that they can out manoeuvre a fellow strategist or out-lie a fellow liar but they simply know they can't out-last/out-muscle the physically strong/athletes.

In saying that, hopefully they'll just out Elissa ASAP cause she's the worst.

I wonder if Helen is starting to get a little too cocky or is it all just for the cameras. I think she could do with laying a little low although aligning with a target the size of McCrae and Amanda should probably keep her safe for some time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

How many muscle guys have ever won BB, except for Hayden I'd say zero. Even ones that last a while end up shooting themselves in the foot, like when Jeff believed everything Kevin said about Russell and screwed up his alliance. Jordan still managed to win but Jeff killed his own game with that move.

Physical HOHs are quite rare, I reckon in a season there are more quiz/question HOH comps than there are endurance ones. Even the endurance ones don't always favour the muscle guys, Rachel owned a lot of endurance HOHs.

As for Britney I wasn't into her at all, her whole reputation in this game is based on some entertaining diary room sessions she had. She failed to spot the guys alliance S12 and then S14 agreed with the eviction of Janelle that frankly ruined that season for me so I never forgive anyone who plotted against Janelle while agreeing with Boogie and Dan.

Britney didn't even deserve a spot of S14 when the other coaches were Janelle, Boogie and Dan. Personally I thought someone from S10 who Dan had history with like Keesha should have been cast as the coach but Keesha doesn't seem to be very involved in BB since her season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

I loved Britney... She was the bestest!!! :p

Anywho, I can understand strategic players wanting to get rid of physical players, because if all the physical players are out, strategy players stand a better chance in physical comps which they didn't before, whereas in the strategy comps they're already on even playing field...

Has anyone else ever played an ORG (online reality game) version of BBUS or Survivor? Its a lot of fun, but mentally draining - really helps you appreciate the game more... I had to bow out of the BB version I played for real life issues, but came in 2nd place in one of the Survivor ones - apparently I would've won had I not mocked one of the jury members (oh well, he deserved it)... Lost it by 1 vote, but really was an amazing experience and as close to the real game as I'll ever get...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

I played stuff years ago, it was forum style and BBUK format. I saw that Tengaed site too once did the odd thing on there, those games are pretty quick though, well the entry level ones. Having done anything since. I wouldn't mind trying again for the craic actually. I'd probably lose interest due to time and stuff lol.

There's always ones going on Facebook, just do a search for Big Brother or Survivor ORG and you'll find something...

Poor Howard got the boot while that vile creature Amanda lives to fight another day. Disgusting. Surprising how her and Helen are more hated on the fan forums and polls than Aayrn now, despite CBS giving both favourable edits.

Double eviction next week so we'll be onto the jury stage after next week. Seems like forever before we reached jury this year.

And what the hell just happened there?

Again, like with Nick, I am totally lost! I thought Judd was sitting pretty, he seemed to be in an alliance with almost everyone.

Wish someone would get Amanda out! Perfect opportunity with the double eviction to just backdoor her and not give her the chance to secure votes. They almost seem scared to vote her out, she is coming across as a real bully.

uugh, I can see Amanda winning this just because no one is putting her up! Without MVP votes now she is going to coast into the final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,021 ✭✭✭bopper

The MVP was completely useless anyway. Anyone who America put up didn't get a single eviction vote!

The thing is, the more horrible and mouthy Amanda is being, the more the others will want to take her to the final. If you're in the final two with a bully that no one really likes your chances of winning are obviously much greater.

That's why Aaryn lost the massive target on her back that she had at the start of the game, because the others were convinced no one on the jury would ever vote for her to win because she's so nasty. However, now that she's consistently winning so many competitions she'll become a huge target again. She knows it too, you could see last night she tried to throw the HOH competition and it backfired on her, she wasn't happy at all when she won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

These people are worse than the Nerd Herd, they were just delusional and self righteous these are trash. Honestly unless Jessie or Elissa win this could potentially have the second worst winner ever. I consider everything about season 9 the bottom of the pit so this is one step above it.

Even Maggie winning is more likable than freaking Amanda, Aayrn, Gina Marie or Helen taking the title.

Good enough for Judd he should have stuck with Jessie all along and not gone running off to Amanda and McCrae.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

This is probably one of the worst seasons... Jessie is the only one left in there worth rooting for, so she'll probably go next... Judd getting evicted was a disgrace - stupid Amanda and Helen had it in for him because they thought he was MVP

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 315 ✭✭Mister R

I feel a jury member will re-enter the game, its never happened and Julie was rather ambiguous with her "the jury are not out of the game" comment. Candice would cause havoc but can't win comps, Judd would be delusional unless the next jury member can fill him in on everything so I dunno who I'd rather re-enter out of those two and I'm sure one or two more will be possible re-entrants also.

Julie is so over this season, her tone is so passive aggressive we all know she hates these people as much as we do. I died when she only told GM to be quiet and not Candice, also how disrespectful for GM to say "Get to steppin" and Helen to compare Aayrn to Janelle. Boogie and Janelle are legends not pieces of trash. Janelle even said if she'd be HOH it would have been Amanda and McCrae's asses on the block so no Aayrn is nothing like her.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure it happened in series 9. BB Canada also did it and it was a bit ridiculous to be honest because it was down to the final 4 when they brought the evicted HG back.
