As an opposite to this thread, cars that haven't aged well....

    A bit of fun! :D

Need some rules like younger than 15 years or no stuff like the Hindustan Ambassador/ Paykan/ Ladas etc....

    To get the ball rolling....

Surely they'd have to have been considered good looking when they were out?
Those cars were outdated when they were launched

This was launched in 2005. Dafuq were they thinking? Saw one on 07 plates the other day, how could anyone with money to spend think "this would be a good use of my cash"

I showed a fiat in other thread, so let it be fiat again in here.

This was done for EU market in 2002 to 2004, so roughly 10 years ago.

I had never seen one of those before, and being frankly honest, I could have done without seeing that. Can't believe a car like that was still in production up until last year.

I had never seen one of those before,
Because I don't think they ever made RHD version for UK and Ireland market.
But on the Continent they were quite popular.
I think they replaced Fiat Siena, Palio and Palio Weekend.
Those were also quite ugly yokes.

    Fiat_Siena.jpg

    Fiat_Palio_Weekend_silvert_hr.jpg

Those were the second part of 90's cars.
and being frankly honest, I could have done without seeing that. Can't believe a car like that was still in production up until last year.

    Version I showed was 2002 - 2004.
After that there was an facelift, so the car manufactured until last year looked like that:
    800px-Fiat_Albea_Sole_%28Istanbul%29.jpg
Not much better really, but bit better IMHO.

wooow, the Puma & A4 are not cars that have aged badly, VAG used that A4 as the basis for their 'all new' Seat Exeo so technically that car's still in production. still looks sharp and commands a few quid in derv form!

In fairness i wouldn't say they have dated badly, they are a real modern cult classic in my opinion, remember when they were P&T vans delivering the post? Im posting it cos they were built and sold much past their sell by date.

There's no way that the Puma deserves to be in this thread, the inside may be outdated but certainly not the outside.

A lot of older VW's, Especially the B5 Passet

And while a fairly decent car these always looked outdated to me:

90s cars all look like 80's cars that've been left to melt in the sun for a few hours. It's that sad, dopey roundness to everything with an interior made of dustbin lids - as if designers suddenly forgot what a ruler was for.

Only a few (Like the RX-7) pull it off well enough not to be **** ugly.

Ford Ka and Fiat Multipla they were called UGLY from very beginning, just because they looks different. Multipla is perfect family car and families love it. Ford Ka is just small and cheap city car and even with this, one of most nicest designed city cars. It has big potential for modifications is anyone want to modify such poorly powered car:

I think people are missing the point of these threads. It isn't about ugly cars or cars that were sold too long, just cars that have aged badly. My lot:

Mondeo MkIII. Not helped by one of their bigger customers.

BMW e39, compared to its Bangle designed successor

Ford Escort, from a different era to the Focus

Avensis. A facelifted and rebadged car 1991 car sold until 2003 was never going to age well.

Funny but the styling of that has grown on me over the years. I would never say it was nice but at least they tried to do something different, unlike the likes of the super bland Toyota Camary from the same period and they are actually a hugely refined and capable car, one of Ford's better efforts from the period.

I wouldn't mind having one if I was regularly doing long journeys, I don't need to see it from the inside after all and I can enjoy the comfort.:p

Besides, was it any worse looking than the late 1990s Merc E class?

The pre-Bangle BMWs (3er E46, 5er E39), they really look much older than they actually are. To be fair it is quite a constant with German cars design, at least until the started to invest in design (the mentioned Bangle for BMW, Da Silva with VW/Audi etc.).

Funny fact, I still remember everybody scoffing at the first Bangle-designed 3-Series, saying it was too bulky and the window like was too high...
