Washing runners

    Is it ok to wash runners in a washing machine? I've something nasty stuck in the soles. Will the hard the washing machine?

    No. Let them dry, outside if it is what I think it is. The soles on most runners react badly to heat, if you wash them, they become no good. Wash by hand in cold water is the best way and then dry them away from any heat source.

    It's dried into the nooks and crannies so will be hard to clean! I guess a brush of some sort is the way to go.

    Any idea how to get them to smell nice and fresh inside?

    No prob washing them in the machine. Low heat! Put them in with some towels or similar as otherwise they will be falling around in the drum and may damage it.
