Nope! I'm not saying trying to beat your own personal score is not a good way to go, what I'm saying is having a weekly target based on last season does not and cannot make sense. The average daily, weekly, monthly, yearly scores year on year are not comparible due to season variables. The season's when Ronaldo/Henry were in the game totally skewed the figures, as it was a LOT easier to make 50 in a week.

So comparing your scores to previous seasons (either total score or weekly total) is not a way to gauge whether you are improving or not. You could play better but score lower, or vice versa.

Weekly position in the overall table is the one and only way to gauge performance, and even this is very slightly skewed as the numbers of people playing the game increases every year and the standard improves. This is why my personal target from last season has been to finish in the top 10k each year. Winning x league or scoring x points per week is a totally arbitrary target to aim for and won't tell me anything about my performance.

Well that works for you maybe. I'm already 7,000 places ahead of where I was last year so that shouldn't be an issue finishing higher than that. Now just want to beat the points total too!

Surely one of your other aims is to finish higher than me and hence win the fictious yet imaginatively titled Lemlin vs RoryC Cup?

    How's that going?

*ahahahahahaha* is the sound that erupts within the thread after Mr.Prodston cracks a joke distracting everyone from whatever they were previously talking about.

This ought to prevent any looming argument that may get some of Mr.Prodston's favourite posters into trouble

I'm 20 or so points ahead but there's plenty left to play for.

2 GWs where anything could happen.

Ah now, there's no need for every interaction between us to end in an argument.

I don't see the problem with banter between posters which the above was.

Chanced a -12 point hit last weekend and it payed off nicely. Crawled back top of the work league (from 4th) by a couple of points... only 2 weeks left and 11 points between the top 4!

    Out
    De Gea (0)
    Evra (2)
    Gerrard (3)
    Remy (2)
    Total: 7

    In

    Boyce (2)
    Mata (8)
    Kone (11)
    Points Hit: -12
