Hope its ok to post this here, but just wanted to let everyone know that National Volunteering Week is coming up (May 13th - 19th) and lots of different voluntary groups in Co Carlow are opening their doors to let people have a "taster" of volunteering with them.

Its an opportunity to try out a variety of different kinds of volunteering roles - without any form filling, vetting, commitments required! :) If you'd like to continue volunteering after the week, then you can apply in the usual way to the group you like.

Anyone interested can get the details on Carlow Volunteer Centre website:

btw - you might be interested to know that volunteering brings lots of benefits! We did a survey last year last year of people registered with the Volunteer Centre and they stated that since they started volunteering the top three changes in their lives were making new friends, being in a better mood and feeling happier, and learning new skills. People also reported that they had made a difference in their community, and a small number even stated that volunteering had lead to employment.
