    Hi guys,

firstly to apologize as i know this type of thread has probably being done to death already !

so 2 years ago i was 19 and decent weight , not fat by any means but not built (i have no interest in having a body full of muscles), i was good size for my age.

at that time i was doing a lot of manual work during the summer (where i actually lost weight too) running around in the heat in heavy work clothes literally running all day doing a real good sweat while working (que blisters on feet etc from all the work) - at this time because i was working so much everyday i didnt use a gym because all my work was long distance walking with heavy objects and pushing and pulling so i could burger king for lunch everyday and be fine !

more recently im in a different line of work. for the last year i have being delivering food (fast food , dominos and indian) in my car. i have being eating free food from both places and doing bad hours til early morning etc, and not eating well at all.

this has showing a lot lately, have had friends and family tell me i have put on weight. i compared my old passport from 3 years ago to one i got a week ago and i have gotten very fat in my face (extra chin ?) and a lot lately i feel like im bout to explode ( when looking in the mirror the bottom of my tummy pushes out a lot at rest)

so im not very over weight for my age but i have a lot of fat on my face and tummy and funny my legs and arms are actually perfect size for me !

so my diet at the moment is a disaster, from eating dominos and indian and takeaway for the last year and a bit and drinking nothing but coca cola everyday.

i want to change all of this,

today is the 3/5/13 friday and i its the last day im going to eat out and go to a party for a birthday, so Saturday i want to start a new diet.

but my issue is i want to do as much as possible but dont actually have time for a gym ! so i want to get as much as possible out of eating healthy

so for starts i will only drink water ! nothing else.

now i dont cook at home at all, usually eat out but i want to be able to get food i can buy in a shop and eat, deli maybe ? i mean i can eat salad and everything no problem which i will but im in a real runt right now and just thinking about it makes my head hurt,

what i need is a diet plan of what to eat every day and follow it exactly, any help with this please ?

i still dont have time for a gym and wouldnt be worth money right now but i am going to be doing plenty of walking and that from now on where possible !

so if anybody has any advice that would be great please on what to eat and how to go about this that would be brilliant

    thanks for reading.

The first thing I would say is cook your own meals.

Do you have one day where you could cook lots of stuff and freeze it?

Stuff from delis etc are all well and good but you should really be making your own meals from scratch using healthy, whole, non processed foods!

tbh i would like to but im very rarely at home to cook etc. which is why i was hoping i would be able to pick healthy food from a shop and eat type thing while staying away from processed food ?

If you're eating from a deli, avoid mayo and sauces, anything covered in breadcrumbs, wedges, hashbrowns, bread and pastry. Which tbh, rules out pretty much all deli food. This is why you're better off cooking at home and bringing it with you.

When you give up your coke and only drink water, give yourself a few weeks of suffering to get used to it. Once you wean yourself off, you'll wonder how you ever drank it, because its sickly sweet, but the cravings will be rotten at first, bear with it.

Walking will burn calories but it won't change your shape. If you want to vary your exercise then lookup bodyweight exercises (convict conditioning and fast twitch workouts) you can do quickly at home.

what foods would be easy enough to make/bake/cook at home that would be good to bring around with me ? i dont mind making lunch etc for myself,

what i meant by the deli was the likes of cold pasta and stuff ? with sauce so maybe yeah that would be bad.

tbh i dont care too much for coke, drinking it everyday is bad alright and im stopping that straight away but i cant see myself craving it tbh.

will look them up , thank you !

I think you need to be realistic here.

If you want to make a change you are going to have to cook your own food as it's the only way you can really know how many calories you are consuming.

You say you are busy but with planning and preparation it can be easily done.

Well what do you like to eat?

    Sample diet

Breakfast: bacon and eggs / omlete with veg / porridge

Lunch: Chicken salad + homemade soup

Dinner: Fish/Steak/Chicken/Turkey with lots of green veg.

There are some really good recipes in this forum if you look around.

Also have a look at this thread. Some very helpful ideas

Also also, sign up to myfitnesspal.com and log what you are eating. Don't use their calories suggestions though as they are too low. Manually change them to bw in lbs x 12.

thanks for that. .. I do like all the major veg and soup etc so I have no problem with that, chicken salad minus the mayo/dressing I have no problem with again and could eat that all day.

lunch I could handle very well I think from eating a chicken roll with mayo everyday to soup and salad stuffs

I suppose for dinner skinless chicken and greens once its all cooked right im happy

lot easier than I imaged this would be :)

    thanks for the help there

Herbs and spices can make a dry skinless chicken a lot tastier than it sounds.

The BBC good food website lets you search for meals by calorie range, very handy once you've worked out your calorie requirements.

The Hairy Dieters have plenty of low cal recipes, even chicken curry.
