Wait a sec, people think Keane came away from that having gained something from it or somehow 'won' the argument? I thought he made an even bigger eejit of himself than usual, but that's just me.

There is a fair amount of entertainment value from the sense that, someday, someone might say something that finally triggers him into swinging for someone else in the studio. I mean, it would be pretty hilarious, as long as no one comes to any lasting harm.

I think Keane was wrong, but he did win the argument. He got Carragher to admit David Moyes should have had more time. Carragher went from saying "would you have kept David Moyes?" to "he should have been given more time" in about 5 seconds. Would any united fan agree with that? Not a hope. Keanes real trump card was "give him more time". He knows that no "football men" will argue against that because they always give out about managers constantly getting sacked. And he was right, Carragher had to agree that managers need more time. Carragher should have said Ole had lots of time and has proven he can't do it. But he didn't, and Keane knew he wouldn't.

They both lost the argument when they thought last December was 16 months ago for me.

Also Roy Keane was given 2/3 chances to lay the blame for United's failings at the feet of the Glazer's and Ed Woodward and he chose not to which I found strange.

His standards for the club sure have lowered since he was a player.

No point in ruling himself out of some job at the club in the future. That would be a terrible idea, of course, but that's not to say it wouldn't ever happen.

I think he ignored Woodward because if he criticised him he'd be admitting Ole was a bad appointment. And looks like Keane can criticise Ole.

David Luiz sent off for Arsenal, can't wait for Ken to spin this into a positive for Luiz :D

Thought they got rid of giving red cards for penalties, double punishment sort of thing?

You won't get double punished if you made a genuine effort to get the ball.

I'm guessing I'm in the minority that I find Uncle Jim to be an irritating windbag.

I'm all stocked up on Uncle Jim material, I'll be good right through to the end of the decade.

I'm expecting that the book itself will get a single fleeting mention, segueing to the time he met Richard Harris (of course he did), followed by more name dropping...

...sorry, the coma began to set in prematurely.

I'm not a fan. Loves the sounds of his own voice.

On a related point, I'm not mad on the book reviews. I find the interviews never actually end up reviewing the book.

The Xmas roundups on sports books are much better in that regard.

I don't see the need for a special guest reviewer at all. Much prefer the lads to just discuss them. As pointed out it basically turns in to an interview with the reviewer.

I like him, he's an interesting guy. I can see why people might not

I think they are segments that keep Murph relavent to the show. In all honesty when Ken and Eoin are not there they are missed, you cant say the same about Murph

I can. You mightn't be a fan of him, but that's just your personal preference.

Ah, Murph. I think most people seem to like him and then there's the minority of the rest of us who wonder what he actually brings to the show. But that's the way it is.

But my fatigue with Uncle Jim is a separate thing.

Murph was actually surprisingly good there late last year when he stood in hosting for McDevitt when he was off for two weeks. Show quality didn't suffer all that much.

Or, you know, unsurprisingly, maybe? They keep him around for a reason.

I enjoyed the boys honesty on yesterdays podcast when previewing the weekend ahead in sport

"Read a book" ...... "how are we going to fill 2 podcasts on Monday?" they asked them

Very refreshing in these days of marketing and hyperbole over the dullest of sporting events.

Murph is always good as a guest host when Eoin is away and he's also good at arguing with Ken if he feels like debating something in earnest with him. Anytime Ken and Murph have a genuine difference of opinion about something, Murph is well able to show up the holes in Ken's arguments.

But I just think he's redundant the other 80% of the time. But there's probably more to his role than what we hear in each show.

You'd all miss him if he was gone

It did annoy me when it became obvious that Murph was going to be ever-present on the football podcasts, I was used to Ken and Eoin doing the football shows by themselves on OTB. But I got used to it - he's grand.

    Totally agree.

I'm starting to think of Murph as the Ringo of Second Captains.

Everyone knows he's not the star of the show, but it just wouldn't be the same without him.

They call Ringo the luckiest man in showbiz.

Lucky that he was the best drummer around and so got into the best band around?

    Makes sense.

    Let's put it this way:

As good as we was, The Beatle's success wasn't down to Ringo's drumming.

Ringo has more talent than all boyband members combined.

Jesus that's shocking about Bryant, was looking forward to a light and breezy Superbowl preview this week.
