Can't see past BENNYS WELL in the 3.10 at Sedgefield. Surely an EW must.

Four Shuck Men debuts over hurdles in the first at Sedgefield, and might be worth a punt at 5/2.
Shark Hanlon has 6 runners there too (with 5 different jockeys booked), and at least one is bound to win, just a case of trying to guess which one(s).

Do ya reckon bar-one-racing will let me have €100 EW ?

    Lets see.

Just had a quick look before I phoned in. BIRZALI absolutely leaps off the page in that race. 11/4. Refused €100 /EW. Looks like I need to find a new bookie.

On a similar note I was in a hackets yesterday and wanted to have a 50e/w on sir graham wade in te sagaro at 6/1 and yer wan in there called the office to check. For 50ew I did some laughing at her.

Robots. Gone are the days when people working in bookies had a brain.

Ireland is quickly following England (sad that they are our benchmark in business) in relation to bookies staff and soon the people serving you will know NOTHING about the bet you are trying to strike.

although I agree with you Fangee, can we please try not to derail the thread.

    Sorry probably partly my fault.

Coach house in the first in tipp looks a point and shoot job. Shaped like definitely the best horse in a fairly decent looking maiden last time out. I realise the price is short but definitely 1 to improve over the season and wouldn't be surprised to see him go in somewhere like royal ascot. For what it's worth I think there is juice in the 1/2 available with victor. Had him priced at around 3/10 myself. Will probably just sit and watch though.
That's about the highlight of today's racing for me!!

definitely one that'll make it big later in the year, but I'd just have questions over whether he'll like the ground.
his sire was unraced on anything worse than good, and excelled the harder the ground (remember his Nunthorpe rout on Good to Firm).

    Why do ew on 11/4.

I like the look of Cookie Crumbles in the 7.00 at Tipp later.

A little bit of money for it already i see, (always a good pointer for a McGuinness horse) and the savage young jockey Whelan takes 3lb off.
8/1 at the moment, this will be my only bet today.

Someone posted up about Shark having two winners in England in the week. Baizically goes at Sedgefield. I backed him the last day at Tramore having finally gotten good ground but was never involved. Would back him today but the 14/1 is long long gone and represents no value at 4/1 favourite. Has never won over this far but he certainly looks like he's been set up for a punt. Kind of sickening when I backed him at 33s last time and was never put in the race

it's become a bit like that recently that you need to be literally sitting waiting for bookies to price up the following day's race to get any value, no more going into the local shop at 10am.

365 Can make some horrendous ricks on Irish racing at time worth keeping an eye on.

The fact that bookies don't like that kind of bet tells you why!

im just a novice but if you put a tennrr e/w @11/4 it will cost you 20 and if it only comes second you will just get one fifth of the odds@10 euro or pounds. at11/4 would you be better off sticking 20 to win regards tony232

I noticed Paddy's were boosting prices at Southwell yesterday but couldn't stick around. Are they ever any use when compared to the exchange prices?

Usually a tick higher than the industry prices, so probably still behind the exchanges

All aboard the Four Shuck Men express again today. This looks an extremely winnable contest and I expect him to win again. 3s looks a very price and Tim Vaughan wastes no time striking when the iron is hot and hopefully he makes it 2-2 under rules.

I dont know whether to back this Four Shuck Men.
Im afraid i'll jinx it for the rest of you if i do !!

Ah man. I've bottled it on BARZALI now. I've learned my lesson in the past about going against you. Go on the shuck ! I've had no bet.

Very Poor run from 4SM,butchered in a bad 3rd no excuses that was a poor maiden hurdle wont find many easier oppurtunities than that.

Don't think that Maiden will work out as bad as you think SRFC. The bumper 13 days ago may have taken more out of him then they thought and Vaughan said before the race it was a last minute decision. He'll make a much better chaser anyways and definitely not one to write off.

I wouldnt write him off on that one run but I dont think that race was up to much, sharks horse is a useless thing gigginstown got rid of it wont ever win a race, fergusons is no good wont be with him much longer and the winner was rated 106 I think,he had a hard enough race winning his bumper so might just need a bit of time.

Some of Sharks horses are being stupidly backed today. Most of them wouldn't run out of your way over in Ireland, don't know what they think is going to change in England.

Bit of word for Heart Focus in 5.30 at Tipp up against a decent O'Brien horse though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,818 ✭✭✭ste2010

    Here's how my day went..

Lumped in 4shuckmen with saver on birzali

Double with amazing scenes and my flora

Regarding Tim Vaughans fav not performing. It was obvious he wasn't out to win or they didn't think he'd win with Richard Johnson opting for another horse "amazing scenes"

All in all a sh*tty day foiled by the gingerest boll*x on earth

Australia Dayis one of my favourite horses, and on his day in the right conditions, hopefully like today he can be uncatchable. Well probably know our fate early enough, but his mark of 140 is do-able and this fast 2 miles on a road should be ideal for him. 5/1 seems a bit of value in this field.
    2 Points win 5/1 various
