The one that stands out...and used by many people..is that their brother/Dad/sister/Aunt/dog has an account and is the one who broke the forum rules.
    Any more?

Mods..not sure if I'm allowed start a thread on this; if not, I understand if you remove it.

Ironically, I hope I don't end up in Prison for starting it! :o

I like the ones where they start off all nice and friendly and then three posts later they call all the admins cock suckers and threaten to sue boards.

Cant they just sign up with a new email or is their a way of preventing this?

I discovered the joys of the prison forum a few months ago. It makes for a good laugh and some of the admins can be quite funny with their replies.

There's a special team of admins that hunt down re-reg posters.
They're like the Famous Five.......only more murderous. And less gay.........slightly.

Can't really, mods will do what's known as a muppet search to check what IP addresses the accounts are set up with.

I think Boards admins can see their IP addresses & check them against previously banned ones. There are of course ways around this for the persistent troll/spammer/headcases but for the less technically capable ones that's probably a good enough fix.

I like the ones where they start as they mean to go on.
    By far my favorite: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056932996

Username is a company name and first post is advertising said company and claims that they didn't know they weren't allowed to advertise on Boards.

I've been in stitches laughing at them :D I was sitebanned once but it was kinda deserved. Admin don't even get paid to deal with the backlash they get in that forum.

Are Three paying for adds? And to represent their products on boards?

Admins don't get paid? who is keeping the money from advertising? Sorry for the questions just really curios.

Gordon: Ok one more chance, but first read the Terms and Conditions again and let me know that you understand them (posted at 4:01 pm)
Prisoner: Yes I read them and understand them (posted at 4:02 pm)

g'em retired as an admin and closed her account a few months ago.

And in answer to the question about mods being paid, all mods, CMods and admins are volunteers. Other than the coke and hookers they receive no payment for the work they do, so please be nice to them.

Yeah I was a little sorry to see him go too, for much the same reason.

I love the ones where the prisoner will keep a thread going for weeks over 5 pages, declaring that he doesn't need access to Boards and he's off to an alternative site who will appreciate him better.

Some of them are pretty fun to read. But to be honest, I find it a bit sad and irritating that people have to argue their case out like some fools in a court to gain access back onto an internet forum. I don't think I would stoop to such levels, rather keep it to 1 or 2 short pm's and then give up if only because my time was being wasted.

The person that posted the 'round yellow fruit party' link the other day had an absolutely hilarious final post.

    Something like,

"I know I've done wrong, guess ill have to take it on the chin - like the old fellas in the link!"

I nearly died laughing at it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,654 ✭✭✭jordainius

I have to feel sorry for that sad individual who re-reged about a thousand times in order to test "mod response time", waaaaay too much free time on that guys hands.

"It wasn't me, it was my brother" - why do so many people think this one will work?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,012 ✭✭✭Plazaman

It was always their brother that did wrong. Pesky brothers making trouble.

I always wonder is it the brother as in sibling or one of those gentlemen from da hood.

Edit : Great minds and all that jordainius

"You're breaching my right to freedom of speech! I'm going to sue!"

I never tire of reading that one.

Or the old "I wasn't spamming, it was posting information relevant to the threads". When the threads are all six years old.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,297 ✭✭✭Son0vagun

I still have flashbacks of my time in prison. I was wrongly thrown in there and never even received an apology. Was only in there for a few hours but it felt like a lifetime.

For a MOD to incarcerate a innocent man and then get away with it is a disgrace. I still see ButtyBot around, acting like he has never done wrong. Where as I still live in shame of having a prison term on my record.

    I am not bitter...

That's a great read! What a story, nicely encouraged by the mods too. Crete, private jets, stuffed suit-bags, 12 nights, Re-regs, Andrew, his unfit mother, split marriage, social workers, cheap taxis, time having no relevance etc. It really has everything. Not sure if it's brilliant or sad, both maybe.

Why the hell was that kid so concerned about getting his ban lifted??

I doubt it. I'd say he's still waiting for his voice to break and get a job before receiving that phone call.

I'd love to know why he was begging so much for the ban to be lifted!

Lost it at '' I was confronted by my son at the door of a taxi, nearly in tears explaining to me what had been happening. I had no choice than to sort this issue out''
