I just have to figure the best way to get any given NTSC cart working on PAL machine

    So, yeah, great thread title!

    So, how to do it.
I have a wonderfully modded Snes, a PAL model, and it can play any region game you throw at it, all full screen.

    But....

I can't use my US games because of the stoopid square-y carts they use!

So, what do-lally or thing-a-ma-bob should I use?

Or, should I just dremel the feck out of it?

Bear in mind I want to play the likes of Starfox on it.

    Pro action replay?

If memory serves me correctly, that's what I used.

Pretty sure there's a pro action replay in RAGE. Let me know before 2 tomorrow and I can pick it up for you. Just do some research! :)

    I'm going to cut!
Feck it, worst thing comes to worst and I'll just get another somewhere.
Using an adapter and I shouldn't have bothered with the mod.

You still need the mod to play all ntsc games. Adapter wouldnt solve that.

Good luck with the case mod. Remember less is more!

It's already modded, Kerb did it last week, even PAL games are running full screen, and no switches, just the reset button and a colour changing LED.
All I need is to allow NTSC games access to the connector.
    Chop chop!!

If you don't have the right tools its a really awkward mod, you have to remove alot of plastic under the slot aswell as widen the slot itself. I destroyed one with a dremel before, wouldn't recommend it

Post results when you're done :)

I used a blunt plastic disposable Stanley and it turned out great, ill add more pics in a minute of where I cut

The lad I bought my switchless one off managed to remove the the slot door and replace it with a slightly bigger piece of hard plastic/glass. I wouldn't say it that's hard to do, makes it look alot nicer. You'd make a pretty penny selling them on ebay

Heres where I cut mine, my knife wasn't too sharp so I really just scored a couple times and snapped with this section and the top piece that you see from the outside(pics above) I was a bit more carefull and sort of scraped with the blade to slowly take off layer by layer till it was a perfect fit

I can get a sharp scalpel in work.
Helpfully I can also get Historacryl (super glue for flesh) and skin closure strips for when I inevitably cut a slot in my hand!

Ah I dunno man, even when you do a 'proper' job like that one in the link, the cuts still look messy! :(

I wonder if there's somewhere you could bring it to get it cut and make the markings with a pencil

Ah just stick an Everdrive it in

Have to agree, though Cathals is one of the better ones I've seen.

    Well,
Be sure that all of us who have availed of your services have been happy with the experience and your prices have always been reasonable and doing the business has never taken long...
But that's enough about Retr0 and his lady boy lifestyle, let's appreciate EnterNow!

    any pics of the result?

I'd rather not post the results, it would be too upsetting for all.
Suffice it to say that Dremel have distanced themselves from the project and if I ever want to buy a Nintendo console again I have to do it under an assumed name...

But, on a brighter note everything works!
