I've heard mixed reviews from good trainers, some say great, some say not so great!

Jaysus, the price has doubled since last year & it's now a national qualification?

Tony O'Brien who's part of the course does train people up for the UKSCA!

Motion fitness does both a full time and part time course that is affiliated with Limerick University. Im starting the part time course in Sept and can't wait. This course was recommended to me by others that have done it.

    1. Find out what courses enable you to get public liability and private indemnity insurance.
    2. Find the cheapest of these that enable you to complete course and achieve objective (1.)
    3. Find the course that enables you to achieve objective (1.) and (2.) the fastest and easiest way possible.
    4. Find the course in your nearest proximity that enables you to achieve objective (1.), (2.) and (3.) and thus eliminating as many of the costs of travel etc.
    5. Once you are qualified and insured then start seeking out as many free and or cheap qualifications with as many sports as you can i.e basketball, hockey, tennis, GAA, rugby, athletics etc etc.
    6. Look for an entry level job in ANY gym and gain experience.

The no course is going to make you a good fitness instructor...it is the beginning of your learning/education not the end. In the long run the first course you do to gain your qualification makes absolutely no difference whatsoever and anyone that tells you different doesn't know what they are talking about.

Spend as little money as you have to getting 'qualified' and insured and do it as fast as you can and then get a job.

Currently unemployed only for the last couple of years been working since i was 18

I'm in my mid 30's- but look younger. I too am looking to get into this profession. I've always liked fitness and health related stuff. Currently looking at a student loan grant to attend University (local area)

I've done some research on it. There is no trade union for 'Fitness trainers' and 'Personal trainers', that i could find. The pay isn't great. Still at the end of the day, it is a profession and its better than sitting around doing nothing. If you're not motivated to teach other people a health lifestyle. This also is not the job for you.
