[CoD Ghosts] General News and Discussion

I know most people don't buy COD with a view to playing SP, but I play them all, even in games that I barely touch the multiplayer. Only games I played online extensively were COD4, MW2, and Black Ops. Usually the SP campaigns are great, but I was a little on the fence about Black Ops 2 in that regard, but Ghosts is truly the worst COD single player yet released. It's simply awful.

yeah I loved the campaigns in COD4, MW2, Blops 1 and MW3. WAW was meh but ok.
Couldn't finish either Blops 2 or Ghosts. Bored stupid playing them for some reason. May finish off Ghosts at some point but have no desire to do so just now.

Yeh I played a couple of missions in single player and really wasnt feeling it at all. Multiplayer hasnt changed much I only ever play infected

Was thinking the same. Yours is the first post in several days. If I was able to post the obligatory tumbleweed post I would do so here but I can't so you'll just have to imagine it.

Siege and Flooded - possibly two of the worst ever Call of Duty maps.

Siege is far too big. Too much time wasted running around trying to find people and on top of that the nature of the map makes them really difficult to see. Too many buildings to camp in. It's like playing Battlefield, but without the vehicles and more importantly the large number of players to make it fun.

Flooded is just rubbish. Doesn't work at all.

Overall, I think they are running out of ideas with Call of Duty.

Got the Season pass at launch so decided to give the new Map pack a try...

It's good, nice small-medium sized maps. Game is still meh tho. New Maverick is a great weapon too, died off a 22 gun streak on Ignition (MW2 Scrapyard remake), was ragin

I'll agree with you on Siege. Awful level design. Flooded was a slow burner for me. Play Domination on it though, and the map becomes much more interesting. There's loads of great routes to run and the map becomes more fun.

Big problem here. I went to upgrade my COD:Ghosts PS3 copy to PS4, but it says when I typed into the redeem code section; 'the code you have entered may not be correct, or may no longer be valid'. It's in fine, and I tried both with caps and without. It's expiry is March 31st as well. Whats wrong?

Where did you buy it originally? Bring it back if it's a bricks and mortar shop, e-mail if bought online

This years COD has been confirmed as being developed by sledgehammer games, I really hope they do a better job than infinity ward, the series could do without another disaster like that.

on the plus side, it gives treyarch plenty of time for the (most likely) next installment in the Black ops series - hopefully one that'll be optimised for next gen consoles rather than trying to bridge the two and failing at both.

I'm really am not holding out much optimism though things can't much worse, can they?

@The Little Fella and @Stone Deaf 4evr - Do you mind me asking what it is you don't like about Ghosts? I've only played the multiplayer and have to say I enjoy it. It's fast and frantic but a lot of fun.

It's not half as fast as black ops 2, the maps are big, boring, and filled with fellas sitting in corners waiting for you to walk into their sights, also the scorestreaks are as boring as sh1t. It takes forever to gain xp to level up, everything looks all wartorn and destroyed and it just looks a mess.

Agree with Stone deaf, it's like a **** version of Battlefield. Blops 2 had awful connection problems but at least it was very good fun to play.

In blops 2 at least there was a feeling a battle was going on between two teams rather than teams sitting at either end of the map sniping at each other.

I just started playing Ghosts today, hugely impressed with the modes I've been playing so far. Blitz in particular is good fun I think. Cranked is good too for a casual game

The maps are hit and miss, but that's always the way with COD. Really like Sovereign and Freight, but yeah maps like Stormfront and Stonehaven are pretty weak.

Edit: I should add I've only played MW2, Mw3, and Ghosts. I have no idea how it compares to Blops 2

I found some the levels too big when I first started, but you have to set up you classes to counter this. There are enough close quarters levels in there, and all the DLC levels are medium/small maps. Some have taken a bit of getting used to, but overall I've always preferred IW level design to Treyarch. That's just personal opinion though (don't hate me :pac:).

I have to disagree about it not being as fast as BlOps 2........ if you use the right perks, this game is unbelievably quick! Be sure to use Quickdraw, Stalker and Focus (among other Perks), and try the Honeybadger with grip and extended mags. There are so many more combinations in this game compared to previous ones.

I enjoyed BlOps 2, but the connection quality was always hit and miss. Ghosts is much smoother to play online and I find I'm having more fun with it.
