At this rate the winner of Day v McIlroy will win the final at a canter

Why didn't you expect him to get far?

Standard is dreadful in the other semi

Louis will be a stern test for Rory or day if he wins his match

Because he wasn't playing very well early in the tournament and was lucky to win some of his matches.

Poor attempt to win the hole there by McIlroy

He did the same last year..

This format suits him perfectly. He can have his stupid blow ups and instead of them costing him a tournament in strokes he only loses a hole but he is one of the top birdie makers on tour which wins even more holes.

His record over the past couple of years speaks for itself in this

Rory in big trouble now, day is playing some great stuff.

The slowness of Day is disgraceful

It must grind you down playing against him

both used irons off the tee and both hit it right
    pretty poor shots

    Day is so clutch

So slow Day is. Kills any momentum his opponents build up

Something wrong with the rules of golf when your opponent can take 3 times as long as you over every single shot. I used to like Day but will be rooting for Louis in the final.

Little bit anti climactic even if it was a great putt to win from Day. Rory will be kicking himself after that round.

At least he can look forward to another 18 holes now :p

It's painful watching Day, he's just so slow. The standard of golf has been poor all day, but Day makes viewing even more difficult.

is he this slow in normal tournaments or is it just because he is last one out and only 4 on the course that he is taking extra time?

Not sure but every putt is like the winning masters putt. Its bull.

I suppose it's exacerbated by the fact that there's only four on the course and there's no-one else to watch.

Went to bed when they were at the 12th last night. Has Day finished yet?

So Day is back to number 1 in the world. Quite some slippage from Shane Lowry - down to 33 now.

Shane seems to struggle at this time of year (has picked up very few ranking points for the past few years).
Hopefully he'll hit his stride soon

RTE seem to think that if they mis-report the result of Rory's match with Cabrero-Bello often enough, they might change the result.

I used to doubt Day had the mentality to be one of the top players in the world as he'd faltered coming home in a few big ones. 6 wins from his last 13 events has more than proved me wrong. Very deserving of world number 1 currently.

Jason all Day has some short game. Best complete game by far too. If he may cut out the theatrics with the supposed back.pain and visualization malarkey he'd endear himself to so many more. I didn't even watch the final knowing he was in it.

There is no doubt he deserves it, just we shouldn't have to watch him close his eyes for ten seconds on every shot! Having said that it was felt worse as there was only 4 people on the course so they had nothing to show but him falling asleep before every shot!

You know when shot tracker says '300 yards to unknown 150 yards to the hole'. I think they know more than they're letting on.

Harrington looks like missing the cut in th Shell Houston Open and Lowry is going to have to find a few birdies to be playing on the weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

Poor Morgan Hoffmann! I saw earlier he was going very well in fact him and Charley were no.1 and 2 at the time but alas he will miss the cut thanks to this ugly stretch...

Another missed cut by Shane Lowry. That'll be another slip in the world rankings.
