I think Boston Bob should be a short priced favourite here, he was winning the RSA well until he fell at the last and that was a much better race than the 4miles race that Back in Focus won. Even though he would be better on better ground I fell he has too much speed for Back in Focus and although it seems that Ruby has chosen Back in Focus I wouldn’t be surprised if Paul kept the ride after Ruby deserted him in the RSA. I can’t see anything else in the race being good enough although Harry Topper is somewhat and unknown quantity. 7/2 looks great value. I’ll be increasing my stake if the odds go out any further

    2 Points win 7/2 Ladbroke’s and a few others.

I agree with most of what you've written Aidan

Obvious worry is coming back from a fall but Back In Focus had a hard race over 4 miles

I definitely think there should be 4/1 tomorrow morning looking at Betfair

Fully agree, BB is the better horse I feel and I will be having a fairly big bet on him as he is sure to drift as the money piles on for Ruby and back in focus come tomorrow afternoon.

i have to say a 2 points bet will be somewhat of an understatement:o....

Shamiran looks great value at 25/1 with Ladbrokes, he is a consistent front runner and will be very difficult to knock out of the places here. He won a race last year at this festival albeit over a longer trip but he has been kept for this time of the year with a couple of pipe openers lately that will have done him no harm at all. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ladbrokes have got this wrong and he won’t be as big elsewhere.

    1 Point EW 25/1 Ladbrokes

I must be in the minority here but I think the 4miler was a much better race than the RSA.. The RSA was an absolutely horrendous renewal of the Race. The 4m was quite a decent renewal of a less flashy race. Rival Destreval did nothing for the form the weekend but I don't think that was his form and I expect he just bounced after his tough race at Cheltenham.
I wouldn't be inclined to have a bet in the race. Gun to my head Id take a chance on Harry Topper but I think ruby has it right and I expect Back in Focus to perhaps get the better of them on the ground.

I will be having one bet only tomorrow and that will be on Champagne Fever.

Fancy tasitiocht in the handicap tomorrow. 8-1 10-0 with Townend on board. Tennis cap had his day at leopardstown and I have a feeling this has been tasitiochts race all season

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭rossom

I put up Moyle Park on his debut where he made my day at the Stephens Day races and was on him at big prices for Cheltenham but he didn't make the trip. Very excited for his debut for Willie Mullins tomorrow and I think he looks an absolutely superb prospect. I'll probably leave him unbacked given the size of the field but I'll be a little disappointed if he doesn't win.

Come on Rossom 3-1... Way weaker field than chelt!! Ye'd have to at least put a tenner on him after 4 shuck men!

already been cut to 9/4 on paddy power.

He's only 5/2 Ste. Made a **** load on Stephens Day on him so he owes me nothing. Will see what his price is like tomorrow.

wrath of the titans in the Goffs bumper will be my only bet tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

Serious money for Swans in the bumper. Halved in price to 5s.

As much as I'm a Jezki fan I can't have it at 13/8. Thought it would be bigger. Might do Rule the World instead.

Backed Boston Bob, Tofino Bay and Back in Focus at Cheltenham, to o tricky to pick one tomorrow. Leaning towards BB though.

Fancy Ruby is on the wrong one on Tennis Cap. Get on Townsend.

Sprinter Sacre? Yes please. Can't make it though. Raging. For the lads at it post up a few pics if you's can. Cheers.

    Good luck.

Dont forget that Godmejudge won the Scottish national after finishing 3rd in the 4 miler.
As for the race tomorrow Im a fan of Harry Topper and think he will be a very good horse so he will be at least one bet for me.

Had a few quid on back in focus when boston bob was taken out of the betting yesterday! Not so confident now bob has been confirmed but it will be close between a few of these. Hope jezki can drift a bit to get a decent price as although i fancy him to win hes too skinny in price at the moment.

Lyreen Legend at a forecast 2/1 to place? That looks massive to me. It's difficult to make a case for any horse over LL in that race, and while he may find one too good such as he did at Cheltenham, it's incredibly hard not to see him running well with conditions perfect. Good honest horse that is being overlooked because he's unfashionable in a race where there's plenty of flaws

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 532 ✭✭✭ItAintMeBabe

I'm chancing an e/w lucky 15 with tasitiocht, sprinter sacre, moyle park and back in focus. 50c e/w returns 300 quid if they all win (highly unlikely.with my luck!!) :)

Punch 4.55 Hisaabaat is the best horse in the race but im now thinking Galway hurdle.Backed him at big odds for Champion hurdle but was withdrawn. If any money comes for him he is the one but the jockey booking is not one of Welds go to jockeys.7.15 Very Wood NAP.Saw this lad in a P2P at Oldtown and he is a beast this horse in my opinion is destined for the very top.He will have no ground issues and has a serious turn of foot [max bet].

Where I got this info last year I wouldnt give up.He looks a right whore no doubt but Weld is Weld.Imagine getting this horse into the Galway hurdle of 10st when[if info is right] should be 12st.Weld would be one of the big punters around and always keeps horses under wraps for Galway.Im going to leave him today and just watch and replay to see how he runs[more than likely buried in midfield and then run on at the finish when race is over].If he wins im going to ride the war office tonight and thats some feat.

does anyone know alex hammonds tip of the day on sky sports for today? always like to check, can be the last bit of encouragement to stay away from backing a horse when she puts it up! :D boston bob, champagne fever moyle park treble! be interesting to see how soft the ground actually is for later in the week

You will be pleased to know its Champagne Fever. Her last 19 tips have lost and she has a record of just 11% winners and two of those winners were Frankel.

Totally agree I think the 7/1 is a massive price, ran an absolute cracker at Cheltenham and is only a 6 year old so has more scope for improvement than all of these bar Harry Topper.

Sizing Europe at 8/11 without Sprinter Sacre is actually free money.

    Paddy Power!

2/5 on Ladbrokes, that's around the price I would have it.

Willie seems to favour Back In Focus in the novice chase reading his RP column

If pedigrees won races Weld's would win the 2nd bumper.

Outstanding breeding really, if only things were as simple as that!

Was looking at that but the dam side is shouting good/firm but one to watch when the ground is riding fast imo.

Coral laid Boston Bob at 5/1 so I took some (might still be there, its a limited offer)

Worried that Willie seems to favour Back In Focus but happy with the price

Some English firm laid 1/7 SS to £110,000.

    Not for me personally.

Chancing a small each way on Banash who likes the going and was runner up here last year in this race. High enough rating but 11-1 isn't a massive burden at 33s
