Facebook competition - sharing but not liking page

Hi Running a Facebook competition currently and finding that nearly 50% more people are sharing the post than are liking the page despite clearly asking entrants to do both. A pity to loose so many likes, have 1200 shares but only 530 page likes. Has anyone got any suggestions on tackling this issue?
