"Pain in my Deltiod when I do dumbbell side lateral raise" (sorry can't edit the title)

As the title says. It's kind of like a sharp, dull pain (if that makes sense?) when I lift it, even without any weights and I hit a certain angle with my arm

Its only painful when there's movement, and it's not enough to make me stop and think "a muscle has been pulled", rather its more like an unpleasant dull and sharp pain

Any idea what it could be?

I had this last year after feeling something uncomfortable during lat raises, got checked out and turns out i have a shoulder impingment on the right and no more lat raises for me....The doc said i could still get big shoulders without them:P

not saying thats whats wrong with you but your symptoms struck a chord with me!!

Some form of tendinitis or impingement, perhaps? I've had an impingement in my left shoulder for quite some time, now; it rarely gives me pain any more, but it often pops and movement isn't particularly smooth or fluid. There were several times last year when the pain almost had me in tears. I've helped to "fix" the problem by working on my shoulder mobility and going through a 2-3 week cycle of DieselCrew's Shoulder Rehab Protocol every few months.
