Macbook white screen backlight

    Hello.

My Macbook's backlight suddenly failed and has never come back on since. There was no flickering just a white flash of the screen at startup and then no more backlight (is that a symptom of a short?).

I can see the OS on the screen when the computer is running so that should rule out some things. It is a Macbook white 5,2.

    I have tried the following:
    -replaced the inverter cable
    -replaced the inverter board
    -a new LCD panel

None of these fixed it. I am thinking the logic board is not powering the backlight.

King of shafted since I was using it for a project but at least it runs an external monitor perfectly.

Any got any suggestions besides buying a new laptop? Would appreciate it

    cheers

As the fault's on the motherboard, why not look for a used MacBook of the same model (I don't recognise "5,2") that has a broken screen? You can then fit your screen to it and, if necessary, swap the Hard Drives & RAM.
