Anyone manage to get in and have a look about? I am hoping to hop in later in the week and check it out but would be interested in other peoples opinions on it.

Went to the open day last week. Don't have to much experience with gyms but it looked impressive, plenty of equipment and gym is quite large spread over two floors.

The do a great range of fitness classes which is what i really want it for.
you can find the fitness class timetable on they're website.

What's the weights area like? Or is it just rows of cardio-based machines?

My OH went in. Big into weights. He is impressed. 4 racks (safety type ones he meant, I don't know their proper names) good few benches and decent weights. The dumbells only go up to 30kg though. He asked would you be allowed do the likes of deadlifts and whatnot, I was told you would, but there is no special area for it, so you would have to choose an area for it, but there is space for it if you make it.

I've been up a few times since it opened last Fri and find it pretty good. Think it gets busy enough in the early evening though, I thought it might take a bit longer to fill up (one of the staff told me on Sat morning - day 2 being open - that they had around 1,500 members by then).

I reckon there's about 40 treadmills, cross trainers and bikes. Then at least two of each resistance machine. There are plenty of free weights and as long as you're not going for Mr. Universe you should be ok. There's a small light weights area upstairs, and a room for spinning classes with more bikes.

We got the €175 opening deal and live 5 mins drive away which means we can't go too far wrong.
