Allergy to tomato products?

    Hi all,

I've a very weird allergy to pizza sauce, ketchup (bar Heinz) and most lasagnas (more tomato the worse it gets). Throat swells and it becomes difficult to swallow (never had an issue breathing though, thankfully).

I'm not looking for medical advice, just trying to find what the ingredient that's causing the trouble. I never liked fresh tomatoes so I don't know if it's just processed tomatoes or if it's anything tomato related.

Maybe pectin? Do you notice this with any other foodstuffs?
The only way to be sure is to have your GP do a series of scratch tests for allergic sensitivity though.

There's any number of ingredients in there that could be causing it.

Consider testing yourself on the slightest bit of fresh tomatoes or pasata (pure tomatos) because pasta sauce and lasange sauce have all kinds of things going on with them - interacting with wheat, sugars, seasonings, preservatives.

If you're open to a little bit of traditional medicine you could try some muscles testing to give you at least some clues, I'll describe how you can try it if you would be interested in trying it, I think it would provide some good info
