I though it would be a cool idea to make this place a bit more live. I dont know about you lads, but I love just sit down and build something random. It does not need to be epic or awesome. Its just something to built for fun! We can just throw these in here and have some banter!

So on saturday I had some spare time and messed around with my "building lego". I made a roadster for my favourite minifig ever! Guess which one lol! :P

Cheers lads. So I am free today too so I got busy again. No planing and just putting bricks together.
sorry for the paint job lads. That's all the colours I got for mocks at the moment :).

    Right so!
Crappy mobile pic atm, but you get the gist...

X-Wing and the TIE fighter aren't MOC, but the rest are... There should be an A-Wing there too, but it turns out certain parts which go together in LDD don't in reality...

    Nice stuff guys!:)

I've built a couple of houses of my own designs and will slap up some pics when I get the chance this evening.

I'm only out of the scratcher and still rebooting! My eldest lad is into mech robots so we will try out a few things over the next few days.
    I will i promise!:o

Hmmm would love to build something again, but I really need new bricks :(. As much as I love white, it starting to get boring. I need more solid bricks too as I want to make some trucks.

I have to say it is part of the fun to do something with very limited recources. you start improvise a lot. As in my first moc here I did not planed red arches and stripes. I rebuilt it, because white mini arches looked bad. So i decided to go with red stripes. :D

Misses coming back this sunday, so hopefully I will get some stuff to add to my little box! :p

I find colour coordination a big problem. Theres just never enough bricks in the colour i want and the shape i want. Not to mention three kids clamouring over each other for the same brick!!
I made a start on a mech this evening but everything else got in the way!

    Bit by bit, eh!

So here's a couple of images of one of the houses I built out of my own imagination. It was originally one of the earlier Creator houses.

fair play to all that are working and building MOCs though. still havent gotten around to much yet. did build a small wind mill, handle at the bottom that turned the blades at the dop, but its was just a simple little exercies to show the wife what technics is really. that said i go go somewhat over board with it. rebuilt it 3 times changing gearing etc!

Some recent efforts, while tidying up the workbench, because the kids couldn't be arsed!
This is inspired by the Wip3out game on the playstation. It was the first game i bought for my shiny new playstation all the way back in.....er....1996-1997.:(

    Untitled-1copy_zpsae197e1a.jpg

And here is a vintagey kind of car with very un-vintage wheels but i haven't got anything remotely close!
    vintageracer_zps62bb0753.jpg
It's running a little rich eh?:)

I love the wee small car. I wonder if it would look cooler with chrome bumper and maybe chrome side skirts?

That reminds me, I finally need to put that order for all the chrome bits I want. Unfortunately it wount happen soon. :( I moved my man cave to bigger room and I decided that I need a TV for consoles. So no lego purchases for a while now, need to save up on some TV :(

I thought i could find some silver rods to do the job but only in every other colour. Actually black might look ok. I'll revisit with pics.
Theres a shop in bricklink that specialises in chrome. I did ogle! Thats on the list, as well as brown. I love the steampunk lego mocs i occasionally see on flikr and they make heavy use of brown.
I'll have to keep the chrome in their own velvet lined drawer though as they will look awful when scratched.:pac: I think the mrs might get me sent away if she saw that!

*Don't touch those, woman! Those are special bricks! :pac:

*She does not look impressed, gives no dinner that night and shedweller has to sleep outside the bedroom door on the floor with his chrome bricks in hand.

    :D

So while I was watching some Game of Thrones I decided To moc around a wee bit! Plan was to make badass Off road truck. Dunno how well I pulled that off :P. I will be making some trailer for it from parts that left over.

Now i finally got at least some more parts, which are not white! :o

Spent a few days on and off at this. Had to bribe the kids to get the use of the tracks!:) And the plants were for hire apparently?? Bleedin capitalists! There is a part of a spongebob squarepants set in the background.

The suspension is basic and the body is held upright by the main pivot pins which are the black ones with friction.
The engine is of the boxer variety with a flat 6 layout. V arrangement would have been nice i suppose. I kind of copped out with the exhausts but i had to do some constructive (boring) work around the house!

So thats my contribution for this week. I'll have to sleep on a few mor ideas. Waiting on a wee bag from bricklink y'see.....;)

I demolished and completely rebuilt the house I posted pics up here a while back. Much prefer the new design - especially the "gallery" effect in the interior and the fireplace.:)

Very nice job JK! The painter was a nice touch!
I've been busy this past while and let this slide. Will get back to it soon...

One thing that it needs. A floors in bottom level. ;) Would make it a lot more nicer inside.

Are you thinking of tiles? They'd be pretty nice alright.

Anything really. Just to have a floor, which is not the base platform. Even if get the whole house risen by one stud with plates. It will look more natural, as now it has same ground outside and inside, if you know what it means.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,029 ✭✭✭shedweller

I know what you mean. Sometimes i see jobs like that done with SNOT blocks and regular 4x1 blocks on their sides. Money is needed of course to buy the billionty pieces for a particular job.
Thats something that the eldest kid has brought up a lot. He might need loads of a certain colour block to do something and all he has is loads of different colours of the same block.
    Total PITA!!

    Cheers - that's a good suggestion.:)

If you look at the old Lego town houses from the 80s (my childhood!) though they didn't have different internal floor plates - just the big ol' green baseplate!

It also needs a couple of final finishing touches too!

I built a house sourced from bricks from an attic clearout of some of my old Lego. It's quite reminiscent of the 1980s Lego town houses.

And I also built a spaceship from scratch from old 1980s lego pieces as well. I'm well pleased with it! :)
