    For me I've learned:
    • Witty people are the best people
    • Reading an argument on a topic that you have no experience of can sometimes be the best way to learn about it
    • Opinion =/= fact, despite some people not being able to cop that
    • Straw man arguments are really annoying
    • Shrews are venomous
    • It's socially unacceptable to remove earphones from a crying girl's ear on public transport

Any pearls of wisdom among ye? Or just some random fact that you only know because of boards? :)

That being from Dublin doesn't make you bad or wrong automatically.

That being from Dublin doesn't make you scum.

That being from Kerry doesn't make you a sheep shagger.

That being from Dublin doesn't make you scum.

That posting after a feed of drink is bad and wrong but doesn't make you scum.

These ones are small, but those are far away.

no matter what the subject is, there are always at least two people willing to argue and bitch about it until the death.

Internet polls/opinions have absolutely no bearing on real life

If you have a low post count or are not part of the boards.ie regular poster clique, your opinion is invalid and should be disregarded immediately.

Works both ways. Apparently if you have a high post count you haven't got a life.

All people in receipt of the dole are lazy, scrounging layabouts. They are also big fans of watching Jeremy Kyle WHILE drinking cans.

All Nigerians get dole and free cars and prams and phones when they land in the country

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
