+1 on north Dublin, though I can't speak for the rest of the city/neighbouring counties.

I've driven 26000 km in last 8 months, with tax, and never had it checked yet. Seen a fair number of speed camera vans in that time though.

How do you know you haven't been scanned by the ANPR cars?

Nice wee car, they went to a lot of trouble putting up those pics given the value of the car

Is that the check engine light on? Probably just a coil too :pac:

What are the other lights? I can see the drivers door is open, so probably that one and the empty fuel light?

I would have agreed but I've been stopped by 3 in the last 10 days or so - all in D15.

When was the last time you saw one of these. The exec car to have in the 80's if the company wouldn't stretch to a German, but the hatchback only body for the first few years was controversial. Parts still cheap and they're easy to work on with simple mechanics. Love the stereo.

It must be some leak to render that car almost worthless.

It's got the rare 2.3 petrol Mazda engine. That would help.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,875 ✭✭✭✭mickdw

2.3 tax and only 160 bhp or so I believe. Sale proof.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,894 ✭✭✭✭bear1

Obviously not anyone's dream car but seems suspiciously cheap at 695 euro?

    Linky

    Asking €1,250

    NCT out since early '15

Reliable Golf Mk 4 underpinnings. Good build quality. If you got it for a grand, stall it for the start of winter, get it NCT'd early next year (should be cheap unless you find something seriously wrong before buying), you should be able to sell for 2 grand come the first nice weekend of spring. Nice & easy profit there I'd have thought...

Something wrong with it at that money. I'm guessing gear selector fork or release bearing. Common issue on them and about a grand to do the fork at a good Indy. If you handy with the tools and had a ramp then you could make a few quid.

If theres nothing major wrong and it just needs a test, then its a bargain

    1650

Advert says a problem with passenger window is all that it wrong and it needs to be fixed and will pass NCT then. Find it hard to believe given the level of price reduction.

Edit: Just spotted the con(ish) piece. The advert says 2006 but obviously its not!!!!
