Hard to see someone handing 1k over for a 1.0 Corsa which then needs a fair few things doing.
5/600e would be a more likely price tag

    My thoughts as well.
Only thing is the car is dead straight and was never abused while they owned it.

These cars are perfect for students, or the ones just getting on to the car scene.
Maybe ask them to lower the price and stick the add on DD and the university campus (if there is one).

no idea if this is worth fixing. If not it might be usefull for parts for someone.

    alfa 156, 220 euro

Would need a new engine if its the big ends, cheaper to do that anyway.
Or... depending on the noise it could be something simple as the variator knackered.
New timing belt, pump and variator would be about 5/600e with labour I guess

Depending on how bad the engine is you could drive it until the NCT is out and then scarp or break it:):)

1 owner and FSH. It's amazing(ly bad) that Merc didn't give them something towards repairing it. Maybe I'm expecting too much though!

If it's the big end that's gone, you won't be driving it, the noise is unbearable.
If it's a variator, the repair kit can be got for 6 quid from Germany but it's a belt off job.
Could make a decent parts car if you needed one. Why can't it be a v6, the flywheel on the v6 is worth 150 alone.

You'd know the noise straight away between variator and big ends, big end sounds like machine gun fire in a ww2 film.
One of the main failing points on the twinspark due to the design and the way oil is distributed.

I'd say an auto box would be expensive for one of these. And a horrible job to do.

Could be knackered lifters or a worn cam either. It'll go for a long while if that's the case. We can only speculate without actually hearing it. I might be looking for a car to tide me over for a while if the Levin sells quickly, something like that 156 might suit :)

My 156 is coming off the road, indefinitely!:p

You can't have it though! :pac:

    Killing another alfa?

Good god know! I don't think it'll ever be sold. I'd get feck all if I sold it that it isn't worth selling, I'll see what the summer brings and if it'll be put on the road or not.

I think it might have a few secrets….

    fully galvanised afik:cool:

only thing thats putting most irish sheeple off it would be the road tax and the fact its only an old saab not a 2014reg diesel so no use:D

i have been keeping an eye on it since it came in from england early last year.

I had a green 9000 2.3 fpt myself with some basic engine mods and it was a beast fastest car i ever had and joyriders vandals and gardai wont give it a 2nd glance which is great peace of mind..the boot is also caverous enough to swallow a skoda octavia combi whole with room to spare:D

Someone would buy it, I've sold old petrol cars for €1-€2k in days before.

Is that car AWD? Otherwise 200bhp through the front wheels just screams torque steer.

Good work Kupus, the front number plate seemed like the Italian style but as you said hopefully no one got shafted.
But if they did, I'm not sure how much pity i'd have considering the ad had feck all pictures

Great find, as long as the engine and body are in good enough nick that car could be easily repaired and could end up being a cracker.

No pics but a family relative is selling a 02 opel corsa 1.0
    68kmiles
Sort of light blue/green metalic color

    NCT to Feb

EML is on so he says needs an exhaust sensor.

Needs water pump. > Not dead but will need one.

Fuel gauge is reading wrong since new fuel pump fitted a few months ago.

    Looking for 1k for it.

Might be of use to someone?

    Wow, that is massively overpriced.

You could even go with an integra type r engine too and have pretty much the same tax.(Obviously you have to have supporting mods and notify insurance etc) Would make a nice sleeper
