MotoGP and the Qatar Night Race is nearly upon us again.

Time to predict the podium places.

    Im going for the following......

    1st-Lorenzo
    2nd-Marquez
    3rd-Rossi.

And for Pedrosa to be either 4th or else crash out while trying to keep with Lorenzo,Marquez and Rossi.:pac::pac::D

Cal Crutchlow to be 4th or 5th (depending on Pedrosa) and Bradley Smith to crash out on his MotoGP debut.

Dovi on the Ducati to be an "also ran" and maybe finish 8th.

just not a fan, some you like, others you don't... not a fan of dovi or lorenzo, or pedrosa actually, boring bastárd... actually, I think I only watch the GP for edwards, marquez(think he'll bin it this race) rossi and hayden

Qatar is a notoriously boring race, so I'll probably record it and watch it in fast forward to make it more interesting!

Carol Abraham on the Ducati is the 1st man to crash out of a race in 2013...so at least Bradley can be thankfull of that much.

    Stefan Bradhl also just crashed.

    THE DOCTOR IS BACK.:D:D:D

    Take that Ducati.:P:D

    Lorenzo 1st

    Rossi 2nd

    Marquez 3rd

    Pedrosa 4th.

Pedrossa must be gutted that he was hammered by his Rookie team mate Marquez.

That was some battle between Marquez and Rossi, so entertaining!

I thought they made carrying another rider a fine worthy offence after Doohan or Schwantz did it years ago?

Imagine if Rossi hadnt have got crossed up earlier in the race and dropped down to 7th..he and Lorenzo would have been battling for the win.:D

Lorenzos parc ferme/pit lane interview to BBC2 was eh "diplomatic" shall we say.;)

Have to say, it's brilliant seeing Rossi back there. So happy and messing around etc. Delighted for him.

And yeah, fingers crossed we'll see some battling between Rossi and Lorenzo from now on.

Next race is in the US on 21st April.

Great race and brilliant to see Rossi back in the mix:D

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 15,858 ✭✭✭✭paddy147

Have we ever had a MotoGP world champ over the age of 30??

Would Rossi be the 1st then...if he were to do it this year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,013 ✭✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

Absolutely gutted for Bradl I really was....cant believe it. You would have got no money in the bookies on Smith crashing out....that was always on the cards, he was a bundle of nerves chatting to the BBC just before the race, like a rabbit in the headlights. As for spies over the entire weekend he is a disaster ffs.

Great race and delighted someone new is in the mix up at the top but still not as exciting as WSB/BSB....Pedrosa was well off tonite all the same. He is alot better then that....

Great to see the season on again all the same.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 15,858 ✭✭✭✭paddy147

Hats off to Rossi for going so wide and off line down the start/finish straight to pass Cal.

The amount of sand and dust that Rossi threw up was unreal.

I actually thought that Rossis bike would slide out from under him at turn 1,due to all the dust he was kicking up and getting on his tyres.

He still has massive mental ability and race craft and he also showed Marquez that on the final lap too.

Hats off to Rossi and also hats off to Marquez for sticking it to Pedrosa too.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,396 ✭✭✭✭kaimera

jeez, did not expect that from Rossi or Marquez but props for the racing.

    poor from Dani.

    and Jorge? ffs, easy

    one down, roll on Texas!

Well that race will shut all the nay sayers up :)

Rossi finished a mere 6 seconds behind Lorenzo, imagine if he had qualified higher and not went wide at turn 1 that time?

This is gonna be a great season :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,101 ✭✭✭Max Headroom

Good race for a change...Rossi was the man of the match, but Marquez wasnt going to let him have it easy.....Lorenzo was well happy out front, pity he fcuked off so early....bummer for Cal and Bradl...glad Spies "finished" a race....
Although i never look on that circuit as a guage to the season....roll on Texas....

P.S. race of the weekend had to be the BSB 600's....wow....

You would think!! But some people are just begrudging f**kers who hate to be proven wrong. If nothing else, that performance showed the problem was the Ducati all along, and not Rossi. Can't wait for COTA on the 21st!! :D

Hayden obviously justs wants to be an "also ran" and have a steady pay cheque each week then....:pac:

He obviously has no wish (in all the years hes now been at Ducati) to be a race winner again and be a contender for a 2nd world title.

Well done Mr Rossi...you sir are an absolute motorbike racing legend and still a powerfull force to be rekoned with.:)

Would love to see Alvara Bautista get a better bike and or better team, I think he is so underated and an absolute quality rider. I almost wish Stoner was back to mix it up again.....I said ALMOST!

He may actually be back before too long, judging by the way his car racing exploits are going.

Hes having a shyte time of it racing the V8 saloon cars back in Australia.

Sure he smacked it into the wall on his debut....and hes still moaning and crying too.:pac::D

This will be the first year for me watching the Moto GP. So far im already in love with it :D Absolutly loved your man Marquez yesterday....oooouphh Id say hes got what it takes, his elbows were scraping the track pretty much on every corner.

I have watched a few of last years races, a little confused as to what went wrong with Stoner though ? Why did he leave ?

He's been racing professionally since he was 14 and has said he had enough of the way MotoGP was going, CRT bikes on the grid, Moto2 and 3 paddocks being separated from the MotoGP paddock etc.
He has a family and he prefers to stay at home, he always did even when he was with LCR he always went back if he had time.
Twice world champ on MotoGP bikes with two different manufacturers, what else has he to prove?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,013 ✭✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

Marquez is quick but you need alot more then speed to be a champion....Dani Pedrosa has speed, but as of yet has no MotoGP title? Which is a shame as he is very good. I can see Marquez taking riders out aswell as himself if he does not relax a bit and use tactics and not just throttle.

But I am so glad he is in there mixing it up.

There are a number of reasons (including the fact that his missus had a baby) but I read in an interview that one of the reasons he left was due to the stick he got from fans, throwing abuse (and sometimes drinks bottles) becuase he was such a cry baby. He said he speaks his mind and can't understand why people dislike him so much.

Yep, he's one of the most successful riders without a title to his name.

As for Marquez, he's being watched like a hawk due to his "win it or bin it" nature. Hopefully he'll just calm down and get on with it instead of doing damage and causing incidents like he did in Moto2.

Am I the only one that thinks Redding should have been given the second Tech3 GP bike, not Smith?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,477 ✭✭✭✭Hotblack Desiato

Absolutely. Redding has the potential to be a MotoGP world champion, Smith will never amount to anything. At least Redding appears to have the sense not to rush into the top class, a couple of years of experience and getting used to fighting for wins and titles is invaluable, you'd think Smith would have had to have made an impression in Moto2 before moving up.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

I can see Bradders going back to Moto 2 or else getting a shyte ride next year with PBM on a CRT.

Or maybe back to the UK and BSB perhaps.
