    Hi all,
my humax Fox t2 is connected to saorview. Time did not change with summertime last weekend. Used the hidden menu to set the offset manually, and it's working correctly now. Is there a way to get the box to update automatically?

    Hi ohmslaw,

I too have a HD fox T2 and it changed the time automatticaly, but mine is tuned to Divis and Clermont Carn, so it probably picked up the time update from Divis.

The HD Fox T2 is programmed to check for updates daily at 4:00 am (if left in standby over night). But this would be meant for UK Freeview, more than likely it won't find the data it's looking for on the Saorview Mux's.

There's a fairly comprehensive forum dedicated to the HD Fox T2 and the HDR Fox T2 over here: http://myhumax.org/forum/forum/hd-fox-t2.

If you're feeling really 'gung-ho', there's a site for those who want to customise their 'Hummy's' firmware over here: http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Main_Page.

My hummy is still under warranty, so I won't be going there just yet. Messing around with the firmware without fully understanding what you're doing can end up bricking your box.

But there are some very interesting extra features that can be added via custom firmware.

Same here. Time changed to summertime ok. Getting signal from Divis and CC too. I'd guess the Saorview signal on its own won't update the box's timer.

Thanks MACHEAD and all. Mine is under warranty also so I won't try to pimp it just yet. You are lucky to be able to connect to Freeview. I wish the techies in Saorview would standardise their interfaces. I looked into the links you all gave and there is some great stuff in there.
Interesting thing though was that Saorview upgraded the system a while ago and enabled the series link functionality. All my recordings worked perfectly even though the time was set incorrectly. After I changed the time manually, my recordings still worked without the need to reset the schedules - neat!

It is a standard well known problem. DVB-T boxes when the selected country option does not match the received broadcasts default to GMT all the year round.

The Humax has no country selection, it is fixed to UK, so nothing you can do.

You can change the country to Ireland - this fixes the Summertime issue.
    This thread will help.

Thanks BowWow. I tried that. I left the offset at 1 hour, and operator set to BBC, and the time did not change (it's still correctly set as in my first post). Operator and Offset do not seem right though - what should I set them at for Saorview?

HI , Thinking of recommending one of these boxes for a customer who wants freeview/saorview . He tells me he has a uk ip address , so im wondering would he be better off going for a Youview box . Are these boxes basically the same , with the Youview being able to scroll back the previous weeks TV programs ?

    Any advice appreciated.
