Question About Stretching

My flexibility is really rubbish (esp leg muscles and tendons) and often advised to improve it if I want to improve strength, general fitness and athletic ability. I recently began incorporating stretching into weights session before lifting and cardio sessions (always stretched after cardio anyway).

My question is this, thinking of trying to fit a stretching session into my day with a little light core work right after I get outa bed and just wondering if its still considered wrong to stretch "cold", was always thought that a little light jog etc before stretching was important as you should not stretch "cold" muscles. Any advice? Cheers.

Might seem unhelpful to simply throw a link at you, but it sounds right around what you're looking for from your post.

    Doesn't answer his question though.

I don't think it's wrong to stretch cold but I always feel I get a better stretch after warming up. Try some dynamic stretching first. It'll warm you up enough and likely help with the stretches.

Try giggs fitness dvd . Includes a warm up section. Cheap. I don't do it enough but when I do it seems to help.
