Rubin Kazan are certainly no mugs, theyve beaten tough Spanish opposition in Levante and holders Atletico Madrid to get to this stage.

Chelsea will be playing their 55th game of the season either side of a victory over Utd and a tricky home tie agaisnt Sunderland on Sunday.

Hoping to win without letting in an away goal but I dont know will we hold out.

    Probable Line-Up:
    Cech
    Azpilicueta, Terry, Luiz, Bertrand
    Mikel, Ramires
    Oscar, Mata, Moses
    Torres

    Probable Line-Up:
    Ryzhikov
    Navas, Kuzmin, Kaleshin, Ansaldi
    Sharonov, Orbaiz, Eremenko, Karadeniz
    Natkho
    Dyadyun

Such a pity for ye that Ba is cup tied, ye really could do with an extra striker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Torres goal in the last round out us through and TBF, apart from Ba's goal against Utd hes been largely disappointing the last couple of games.

Without Mata, Hazard and Lampard chipping in with goals I'd hate to think where we'd be in the league and how far we'd come in the Cups.

Occasionally ESPN have had the game on but when I switch it on it says it's unavailable, what's that about?
    Specifically the EL

It's some sort of broadcasting issue with ESPN in the RoI.

I forgot about that actually. :(

I really dont want to go out to see it fi it isnt on the T.V. and my internet access is gone at the moment until we switch providers. :(

Woolshed in Cork are showing that and the other 3 games, although I dont want to go out, I suppose it has to be done. :D

They've got some good results this season alright and I wouldn't fancy going there needing a goal.

I'd take 1 or 2 nil here, can't see us keeping a clean sheet though.

Why are we persisting with Bertrand?

Never been to Cork one, but Woolshed in Dublin is great for all types of games.

One my favourite spots know few Italian and Spanish so quite handy to get games there and pints make it longer day then it should be ha.

Cole is injured and apart from the last game against Steaua he hasnt featured in the EL.

Never been to the Dublin one :o but I imagine its the same setup, plenty of seats and plenty of T.V.s setup and as ya said easiy enough to over sty in such a place.

I sometimes go in on a Saturday 3pm to watch whatevers on Bundesliga, EPL, grab a bite to eat and stay until 6 or 7.

Rubin Kazan are not having the best season, Europa League again next year. Got watch them play Spartak Moscow on ESPN/Setanta a couple of months ago and lose 0-1 at home.

I wonder what looks I will get if I go out with my Rubin scarf:pac:

Jonathan Wilson is backing a very defensive 0-0 or low scoring draw..

Only seen Ruben play twice this season, they're a potential banana skin, but defensively they're unstable. Chelsea should win the tie but it's a banana skin especially with this been the fourth game in close succession for Chelsea. I know they say 90% of the recovery occurs in the first 72 hours but all those games so close together can't be good.

Ugh why are we playing Benayoun? Play one of the kids there if Haz & Oscar need a break?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,928 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

    Yossi?!
    Bring in the kids!

Would have much rather left Mata at home and saved him for the far more important game on Sunday. I think he is going to be pivotal in whether we qualify for the CL or not.

Gokhan tore on the bench for Rubin Kazan , a former youth player who I had high hopes for at Chelsea but was never given a chance

Whoop, start as you mean to go one! Actually great mindset to finish there.

Is Terry Alonso in disguise tonight?

Messy but that's the third good ball like that already. Nice to see Torres acknowledge Luiz's pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Super by Torres there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,200 ✭✭✭hots

:/ Cech shaky from range again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,928 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

Torres has fire in the belly.

Torres and Bertrand are on fire. What's happening?

Can anyone tell me who that fella with the mask is, looks a decent prospect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,928 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

Pity Luiz isn't getting more time as a DM. His long range passing can be sublime.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,852 ✭✭✭homer simpson

Lampard has been pure and utter muck tonight! Gives the ball away every time...

... also Basael 1 up at spurs!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,852 ✭✭✭homer simpson

    Boom 2-0 Moses!

Outstanding ball in the passage of play before that from Mata how did he see him, must have eyes on the back of his head!

I'd rather see them stay in TBH, if they go out it means they are solely concentrating on top 4 which is bad for us.

Ah ref  How the fook can you give that, ball to hand and hit at him at 1,000,000 MPH. Away goal for them now....

    .... cheers ref ya numpty.

Both games went from 2-0 to 2-1. Should be decent second halfs.
