Foot Injury

So I jog about 10k every Saturday morning and was hoping to reach marathon level in about two years. However yesterday I was walking and I got a dull kind of pain in the arch of my foot, like I was standing on a stone. I walked on for about 15 minutes as the pain was only momentary but it came bak and got much worse.
After twenty minutes sitting on a wall my friend walked by and he was able to help me home. I soaked my foot in warm water but to no avail and when I woke up this morning I was still in pain.
It only hurts when I walk on my left foot and if I use the tiptoes of the foot there is no pain. Also resting the food causes the pain to leave for a few steps before returning. Hoping it's nothing serious. If anyone has any idea what it could be please let me know. Thanks!
